Want to check out a 16' Cruiser - Bellingham/Anacortes WA

Hello Everyone. I am in the market for a small boat for my family and am considering a 16' Cruiser. Is there anyone in the Bellingham/Anacortes area with one that wouldn't mind showing theirs to me? I just want to sit in it and see if it works for us.

Thanks so much!

Since there are no other takers, a couple possible suggestions....

If you are considering buying new, there's a chance the factory (in Bellingham) will let you check out the 16 cruiser that is currently being built, after it is finished and before it is shipped off to the new dealer in FL. If you time it right.

But if you are looking to buy used, then wait for the next one to pop up on CL and go check it out...sometimes people get lucky and find them just down the street (Harvey!). But usually people have to drive a fair distance to get a good one, even shipping them across the country. Luckily you are in the PNW and so they are more abundant relative to other parts of the country. A drive across the state wouldn't be much for a serious buyer, ask for more photos via email before making the drive. There's a nice looking one in Olympia that just popped up yesterday, looks like a clean unmolested example for about a third of what a new one will cost.

You mentioned "family" though, and most 16 owners agree that it is good for 2 people, even better for 1 person; Three or more is a crowd. While very capable, they are small boats.

Thanks. We were really interested in that 16' Cruiser in Olympia but wanted to check one out locally before dragging the fam down there and wasting the sellers time. I have two small children and thought maybe we could make a 16 work for a few years but now I'm thinking we need something a bit bigger. Would love a 22 but they are out of our price range (even the cheap ones). I think we will probably go the Arima route and work toward the 22 in the future.

BTW...I work in Fairhaven and walk by NMI all the time but never see the smaller boats being made. The Cruiser in Oly has only 300 hours on the Honda 50 and a kicker. Good deal for sure.
