Wanted: 25 Cruiser

Add me to the list of folks looking for a 25 cruiser. Last deal didn't materialize so I'm back on the hunt.
Looking for one in the 2003-2005 era that needs some work. Trying to keep my costs down. I know they are out there, just got to find it.
I live in the great lakes region but I'm willing to travel for the right boat. Thanks!

Check all of the usual places twice a day. Craigs list, Face book C Dory, Boat Trader etc. As well as this site. When a bargain comes along then you can be first in line. Put a deposit down, with qualification of survey and sea trial, when you find a boat.

Hey there folks. Still on the hunt. Keeping an eye on marketplace for 25'. Keep me in mind!

Did you see the one listed in Florida 2 days ago? Check For Sale By Owner forum. Looks like a well kept boat with newer power.

Nice! Not only well kept but garage kept! Raymarine Chart Plotter Axiom 9, Raymarine Auto Pilot and Hailer system w exterior speaker. We have these same items on our boat and love them. The boat is well equipped with many more options and so should sell quickly in my opinion. Gary

The boat above is a 22 angler. It's condition suggests it had water intrusion . No photos of transom, the outboard suggests it may have been ripped off for some reason. My guess is that it will need total rewire, perhaps a new transom--an unknown core issues?? Most likely a new outboard motor.

IOW, it "needs some work". actually, it may need a lot of work. I know it's the wrong size, and newer, but depending on how much work you want to do and if you are willing to go to a 22, it's probably in the price range...Just passing it along...

I love the 22 anglers, I look at this boat and I can't help but think of how I could turn this boat into a sweet ride. I know it won't go for anywhere near the present bid of $3,200 but if it were to go cheap it would make a great project for some energetic person. My heart says "Let's have a look at this" but my old bones say "Don't you even think about it" lol. However for someone who may be interested I would pay special attention to the transom to make sure that it didn't sustain any damage when the motor was removed (however that may have happened) , I would definitely go thru the decking and hull with a moisture meter to insure the condition of the core. The boat may have been submerged so I'd look for conditions that would indicate such an event like soaked cushions or residue from water in places it shouldn't be, and verdigris on the wiring panels throughout the boat. The engine is a question also. It will need the lower unit looked at closely, the skeg looks like it needs at a minimum to be welded and possibly replaced.
If a person has some working skills and not afraid to tackle a hefty project and the price of entry is right then this could be an opportunity to make your dream come true.

I did look at a second set of photos, which show the transom and splash well. The transom does not show as much damage as I suspected--and it is no clear why or how the motor was taken off from the transom.

Yes Bob I saw those photos also and that's why I got to thinking a little about a project. I think this boat may be worth the effort to restore. But I think I'll leave it for a younger man/woman as I've got a great boat already. But when I start thinking of downsizing the 22 Angler may be the direction I go. Maybe I should still do it. By the time I'm done I might be ready.
