Location is port side under the aft storage compartment, fwd of the port fuel tank.
I keep mine clean by cycling diluted bleach through it before use after it has sat for any length of time. I winterize with either RV pink antifreeze or with a couple gallons of cheap vodka. Either way you do it, cycle a couple tanks of fresh water through it before use.
Thanks Steve. Do you know the capacity of the tank? I am helping a friend with his 24. They will be joining us on our cruise north through BC in May. He got the Tomcat 24 from his father and hasn't had the chance to use it much. We've rewired the electrical system and fixed the Wallas so he now has heat. On to the fresh water system.
I will grab the spec sheet when I get home this evening. I know its bigger than 10gallons but not sure exactly how much bigger. I also have a 3 gallon water heater in the loop.
Where are you launching before heading into BC? We have the Friday Harbor get together in May. Would be nice to see another 24. Feel free to ask any questions.
Thanks again Steve. We are launching at Blaine May 15th. Due to scheduling conflicts, I don't think we will be attending the FH gathering. If the weather doesn't cooperate for crossing the Strait of Georgia, we may head to the San Juan's. If so, we will certainly join the CBrats in FH. Do you plan to do any cruising in BC after the Friday Harbor gathering?
