Yes, it's true, we found our C-Dory!!! With a lot of help and support from Robbi (C-Run) and DaveS (Sea Shift), my wife and I are going to be the proud new owners of Maria Consuelo, owned by Bob and Connie Miles.
After becoming a C-Brat just a little over a week ago,
, I made contact with a couple of owners on the East coast and was almost ready to jump on a plane. My wife convinced me we could find a C-Dory closer to home. Robbi contacted me last week and told me Bob and Connie were going to sell theirs and so I waited anxiously for Bob to contact me.
Well, long story short, we have a purchase agreement in place and after Bob gets the motors serviced, he insisted, we will finalize the transaction and she will make the trip from Steilacoom to Arlington.
We had a terrific meeting and thoroughly checked out the boat and went for a test in South Puget Sound on Friday. Bob has left no detail unchecked on that beautiful C-Dory! Wow, talk about spotless and he has kept a detailed binder with all records and manuals intact!
We are still working on a new name, which will include my wife's name, Kim, in some way. Of course, we are going to have to involve DaveS to help us in the whole renaming process, too. I have to also make plans to sell our venerable 1984 Arima 17 Sea Chaser, which has been a great fishing boat. Any interest?
We can't wait for our first trip, which should be in a couple of weeks. My wife and I want to thank everyone for their support and we look forward to attending some CBGTs soon!
