weight down the road

While the claims are definitly outlandish I do beleive that you could easily see a 30% increase in fuel efficiency in such a device. But not nearly a 70% increase!

An interesting note, it has been proven by a major automaker (BMW) that our current gas guzzling engines will run "as is" with a fuel injection system designed to run on Hydrogen. The biggest hurdle is being able to set up the delivery system across the world so that people can switch from Gasoline to Hydrogen. My guess is that the device above is something that basically gives you a hybrid fuel system and it uses far more water/electricity than they state on the site.

I used to use water "injection" on my old '68 Bug and increased both power and fuel mileage by about 10% when I had the adjustment correct. Only reason I stopped was due to the constant hassle of trying to get the flow just right out of the "injector" that I was using. Plus I had to manually set it each and every time I started and shut off the motor. But on long trips it worked great.

I for one am not sure I'm ready to have a bunch of little Hindenburgs running around our highways. They are dangerous enough already. Although gasoline will butn too, won't it :smileo

Got the weight down the road last week on my 18 Angler... One battery, about 3 gallons of fuel/oil.... a few ropes, a fender or two, no anchor....pretty much just the boat, trailer, 50hp 2 stroke motor and 9.9 hp 4 stroke motor..... and she weighed 2340#. Sweeeeeet!

2 points:

1 - The best fuel efficiency increases I have ever heard of are in the 5 -10% range.
2 - Hydrogen is a combustible fuel just like gasoline. H plus oxygen yields water for exhaust. Hydrocarbons plus oxygen yields a bunch of carbon compounds and water for exhaust.
3 - Water injection through your carb is not the same thing at all as running on hydrogen fuel.
4- I can't count today.

I borrowed a truck scale last week and measured the tongue weight of the Barrel o Monkeys:

1020 lbs.

Tongue weight is supposed to be 5 to 7% of the trailer weight. I am way over that.

No cracks here, DoD. That was very interesting and well stated. One of the few diatribes of yours I have read all the way through (just kidding, of course - I study all your words carefully searching for knuckle busting ops). Thanks.

Re the energy part; thanks Dan. Sooner or later we will all find out the folly of "rounding up the usual suspects causing pollution" and follow the energy path to it's beginning. In time, recognition of the your nuclear energy observation will triumph. In my early youth it was a known fact that frogs caused warts. Zelpha

Dan-

Excellent summary and analysis!

And especially well done considering it's source from a Suzuki Slinger from Fairbanks who takes cheap shots at broken down Honda owners and innocent bystanders:

"First I'd check and make sure they didn't slip you a Yamaha with a Honda cowling on it."

Maybe you ought to just stick to something simple like prop selection.

Joe.
