Weight of Fully loaded CD25 w/twins 90Hp?

I am selling a CD25 for a client and was wondering if anyone knows the wet weight of a 2004 CD25 equipped with Twin 90 Hondas on a trailer?

Thanks in advance.....

I agree, the C-Brats is a very informative forum with people that have a passion for their boats. Because I am a yacht "broker" the moderator said I could not post-- I have a very clean well equipped CD25 for sale. Maybe you could put in a good word for me and "Candy O".......

Hi,

With twin 90 Honda engines (about 400# apiece with oil in the crankcase and props) I believe you're looking at a lot more than 8,000 pounds unless the trailer is quite light. The boats we've rigged with single BF135/150s have been around 8,500# on the trailer. Full of water, full of fuel, lots of "goodies" onboard, fishing gear, loaded for a trip it wouldn't be out of line to expect 9,000 pounds.

I can now tell you exactly what Frequent Sea weighs: The boat is dry (fuel and water tank empty), except water in the 6 gallon water tank. There are 50 # of tools aboard and no cushions etc. The boat has the Wallas stove, refigerator, 200 feet of 1/2" nylon rode, with 10 feet of 1/4 Proof coil chain--no anchor. The 130 hp Honda is the only propuslion.

The Aluminum Trailer is 800 lbs (weighed)

The C Dory with engine is 4740 lbs.

The tongue weight is 540 lbs

My Excursion with probably 100 lbs of "stuff in it, plus 190 lbs of "Bob" weighs 7,740 lbs.

The weight of the boat seems to correlate with the factory numbers. This was a bit suprising to me. Many other boats are weighed with fuel, water, cruising gear, kickers etc and probably heavier galvanized trailers

So Bob, are you saying the total weight of boat and trailer as it stands is:
800 +4740 +540 = 6,080 lbs?

Does that include 2 batteries? So just need to add 100 gal fuel (600 lbs), 15-20 gal water (~120 lbs), ice chest (50 lbs), raft (65 lbs), raft motor (30 lbs) and crew gear/misc (150 lbs) to that number?

Nope--the total weight of the C Dory on the scale was 5540, including the trailer, 2 batteries, 6 gallons of water in the heater, Wallas stove and refigerator and engine. The boat was stripped other wise.

We did a number of measurements (it must have been a slow day at the scales!)--we did boat/trailer with truck, we did trailer alone, jack foot down on the front, we did truck alone. We had weighed the trailer previously.

I am sure that well over 1000 lbs is added to the boat when it is ready to cruise--maybe 2,000 by the time food etc is aboard. 600 lbs fuel, 160 lbs water, 20 lbs of dog, 20 lbs of dog food, you get the picture....

Pretty light rig you got, great! That alum trailer really makes a difference. I est my galvanized at 2000-2200 lbs most likely. I weighed my trailer and boat with raft, dingy engine, windlass, 2 anchors/chain/rode, bimini, bait tank, ice chest, full gas tank, 1/2 full water, full gear for 2 on our way to a weekend cruise, weighed 7,450. I don't have a water heater, holding tank or marine toilet. Since then I've added a Wallas heater (and commensurate heavy wiring), so maybe another 75 lbs now.

Thanks for the data point. :thup
