Hi,
I am new to the forum an looking at buying a C-dory
I am trying to figure out what C-Dory I could pull without upgrading my vehicle.

Does anyone know what the 22 and 23 c-dory weighs with trailer ?

Thanks
Brian

The real world numbers I have seen for the 22 vary from 3800 lbs to about 5,000lbs. For serious road towing, the tandem axle trailer is recommended. The rest depends on what equipment is present on the boat. The 23 will be slightly higher.

My 22 on an aluminum tandem trailer is 4400#. This is with the usual cruising equipment on board but no water, food, or clothing, and minimal fuel.

I have a 22 Cruiser, loaded for cruising, on a Pacific, trailer, bunks, with side bunks too, tandem and galvanized. It Scales at 5,000. Tongue weight is just under 500, (475 - 495 ) when I tested it. (Note for our friends north of the border, those weights are pounds, not kilos. The trailer empty was 1150 and there are Kodiak Disc brakes on one axle.

I will be adding the second axle soon and will re weigh after that.

What are you towing with?

You might make it with a light boat (as in not loaded with a months groceries, extra fuel cans, tanks and water full and 100 feet of anchor chain), on an aluminum trailer. Or if you are only towing a few miles to the launch site.

Tough decision.
