I'm not all that well versed on Facebook but I've started a "Page" there for the Marinaut Boat Company.

Apparently if you go there and "like" it that's a good thing. :)[/quote

Heck, I'm still trying to figure out how to program my VCR

Me too! I'm glad we went to DVDs and DVRs. :)

I have never been a fan of those social web sites such as facebook, twitter and others so I never joined any, but have been invited to do so many times. I never had a reason to until now.

Les your facebook site is very informative and entertaining. I will join facebook just so I can interact with the comments and information on the Marinaut page.

Good job.

Dave, I'm not a Facebook expert by any means. I joined mostly to keep up with my kids and grandkids.

What I did find out though is that by default your Facebook "wall" (your private page) is pretty wide open. I'd get into the privacy settings and make them a little less open so that folks that you haven't accepted as friends do not have access to any information you might add about yourself.

Now that I've been using it a little while I find I like it quite well but that was after I changed the privacy settings.

The other thing...if you do make your privacy settings more restrictive...unless you (and you alone) accept a Friend Request (or initiate one) no one has access to your account or information. It seems FB sometimes gets smeared with the "no privacy" brush and blamed for all sorts of evil things but that's not really the case. It is true they don't default a new account to more restrictive privacy settings but it's really up to the user to get into those settings and make them what you want them to be.
