Whale Watching

Thanks everyone for yor input. Snug Harbor is indeed closing Feb. 1st for 15 months. I just read their return e-mail to the e-mail that I sent them inquiring about reservations. I may have to seek out the Grays or perhaps some other pursuit.
Thanks again,
Forrest
PS: Twice this year while fishing out of Westport my family and I were treated to Humpbacks. Once they were so close we could smell their breath and boy does that stink! Also I was lucky enough to scratch Luna in Nootka Sound. He was tossing around my 18' Lund when I tried to leave. That was like a religious experience. People were actually sticking their hands down inside his mouth and scratching his tongue. Too many sharp teeth for me!

forrest,

No need for the disclaimer. That's old news as far as I'm concerned.

I'm one of those low life Cape Cruiser owners
IMHO, you should feel free to participate as much or as little as you like.

Peter,
Not so much as a disclaimer as more trying not to fire someone up.
IMHO the CC26 is the finest pocket cruiser ever made. I make no apologies
for owning one. Indeed I feel fortunate that I do.

forrest when are planing to go? Like I said deer harbor is nice and not crowded. There are lots of fine places to anchor in. As I keep saying if I had a 25 or 26 with a shower I would never tie up at a resort. If you do have to have a cabin, they have some at deer harbor for rent just across the street from the marina. Go see the whales.

Last I heard, those cabins across the street were going to be demolished and condos were going to be built there. Maybe the plan has changed.

Any thing new, current (VHF channel etc) on the PNW Orca experience. Will be up in the islands soon and would like to capitalize on the chances for a whale siting. Based around Sucia and west end Orcas.

Tom, Thanks for the early and helpful write up.
