What does your boat weigh?

Took the rig to the local grain elevator that has a Dept of Ag certified scale as they buy and sell grain.

Total weight of truck and boat/trailer/gear. 9080

Weight of truck by itself w/o trailer attached. 4960

Difference 4,120

Truck is an 02 Tundra, ex cab, 4 WD

Fuel onboard (estimate) 40 gallons, none of our cruising gear on board.

No wonder I was happy with towing mileage, 10 MPG, as this is about 2,000 lbs less than either our Seaward 25 or our Compac 23 pilothouse.

Awesome, only thing missing is what boat, motors and trailer are we talking!

Well, my bad and I need to update my profile for sure.

22 Cruiser

Twin Honda 40's

Load Rite galvanized tandem axle trailer

I missed that you had gotten a C-Dory. Congrats! We have "sibling years," as my 22 Cruiser is a 2002 :D

I have a tandem galvanized trailer, and when I'm loaded up for traveling (empty water, mostly empty fuel, but always a few tubs of tools and etc. that I don't want in the tow rig -- plus the usual boating gear for a cruise and a main/kicker), I'm around 4,500# to 4,600# (scale weights). This includes around 330# of tongue weight, so if I subtracted that it'd be around 4,200# on the trailer axles. (My trailer is rated for 5200# carrying capacity above and beyond the trailer weight itself.)

I like the name "Willow" :thup

It's also good to know your tongue wgt, which should be 5-10% of towed wgt and within your truck's published specs. 15% for girl toys like travel trailers.
Next time when loaded in cruise mode get the boat wgt while hitched to the truck but the rear truck tires not on the scale, and another ticket for the boat/trlr alone unhitched. The difference is your tongue wgt. 7.500001% is about perfect for my 18,790 lb rig. (Sometimes I will tape a dime to the hitch to get closer to perfect). You can then experiment with wgt distribution within boat and pickup bed. Including where you stash your larger gold and silver ingots (assuming you didn't leave them all with Marc).
Have Fun!

Lighter weight than your sailboats likely has a lot to do with the fact that you aren't hauling around a weighted keel on your C-Dory and even MORE cabin space... another bonus.

Cockpit seating is a different situation than your sailboats, too. I had concerns when we first got the C-Dory: the 25 has built-in aft seats, but no long "benches" like most sailboats. Instead, you get a couple comfortable folding camp chairs... You don't have to be concerned about "going to the high side" in the cockpit. Level cruising is nice... especially when you decide to put that Wallas to use while you're cruising along - one of you at the helm, the other making lunch. And, you both have a great view.

I probably mentioned some of this stuff to you in the past, huh?

Tomcat with twin Honda 150"s and Float-On aluminum trailer: Boat and trailer #9200, plus #900 tongue weight on truck

Note- half load of fuel (75 gal) and empty water tank is my normal towing mode

4100 lbs seems kind of light, but probably depends a lot on how you are loaded and type of trailer. With my twin axle aluminum trailer, and my 22, which probably has more crap on it than I need, with full gas and 1/2 tank water, I come in around 4800 lbs., with a tongue weight of about 420 lbs. Just shipped my new boat up from Tacoma, Washington to Anchorage, Alaska.

22 foot cruiser on trailer with 115 HP engine 1/8 tank fuel, no water, maybe 100 lbs maximum of accessories was #4,380 including the tandem axle EZ loader trailer.

Total weight of boat, trailer, and tow rig is 6,000# fully fueled and loaded. Washington leaves most of their weigh station scales operating when unattended. I spent half an hour at one, even unhitching the trailer to get an accurate tongue weight. I'm within about 100# of having 2,000# at each axle. Boat, motor and fuel weigh about 1,500#.

21 mpg.

C-Dory 25: Dual Axle trailer, single 150 Suzuki, 100 Gallons of Fuel, Yamaha 2000 Generator, dinghy, two rodes with 35' chain. Really nothing else on the boat other than maybe 50lbs of spare stuff. The 9.9 kicker had been removed as well as the anchor and put in the truck. No water in tanks.

Weighted in at 7,100. I had the boat on one scale and tongue stand on another. The tongue weight was 1,000. My WeightSafe hitch that weighs the tongue weight on the hitch read 750. The tongue stand is a few feet aft of the hitch so that might have made the difference between the scale and hitch scale.

Towed it with a GMC Sierra 2500HD Duramax. It is inside the weight limit for a 1500 but the 2500 pulls it much easier and doesn't push the truck like that same weight did my 1500. The exhaust brake did 90% of the braking for me.

Toyota Tundra 2001, front axle = 2620
rear axle = 2700
05, 22 Crusier on a Pacific Tandem Axle trailer, both axles = 4900
with twin 40 Yamaha OB's. Full fuel (45 gal) and half a tank of water.
Tongue weight = 450#

Trailer empty is 1160# for a galvanized steel, bunk trailer with side bunks.

MPG towing is 12.5. MPG non- towing = 20. ( I'm a pretty easy on the peddle driver.)
