What's This???

In case you missed it, the intro for this new forum is in an announcement on the Home page.

In case you don't want to go back and look it up, this is what it says:

We have added yet another Forum to the C-Brat site. This one is called That's Life, and is there for sharing and chatting about anything and everything concerning life in general. Family, friends, church, a bad day at work, a good day at work, the happiest of life events, the saddest of life events, or whatever is on your mind that should rightfully be shared with friends. It doesn't even have to involve boats!

As is our tradition, the only test that needs to be applied to the content is how it comports with the Just Be Nice request. Those three words have worked so well for so long, that nothing more needs to be said about it here.

This new forum is visible only to registered members of the C-Brats Online community who are logged on. Visitors cannot read, reply, or even find it. Keep in mind, though, that while it is not public, neither is it private. New posts to the That's Life Forum will not show up in the Most Recent Topics list at the top left of the home page, but they will be displayed in the list when you click to view posts since your last visit.

This is something that has been on my mind for quite a while. The C-Brat community has become so much more than just a bunch of boaters. Having experienced first hand the value of friendships made through this group, I feel it is healthy for the soul and good for the world to encourage those who wish to discover it for themselves to take the time to do so. Many of us share things on the General discussion board - and there is nothing wrong with that - but many more may feel it is not appropriate to stray too far away from the connection with C-Dorys. We have all been taught while growing up that we need to stay focused and on topic. Well, we are all grown up now, so I think we are capable of handling this.

Have fun, enjoy this new room in the Pub, and find out just how wonderful the people here can be.

Thanks,

Mike

Tyboo, Thanks for getting me an album set up in record time. It's tough being a CDog convert but I sure like the look of the Brats page it looks really good. I had some difficulty uploading my photos of Jolly Roger but I attribute that to the site glitches spoke of in other threads. I was pleasantly surprised to see how many other CDory owners there are listed in Alaska I'll be looking for those folks at Homer, Seward, and Whittier. Good sailin and thanks again.

Brats,

This is my opinion!

I am posting on this thread to remind all members, both old and new, that we have a place to post non-boat related stuff.

Per Mike's opening statement above, this is the place to post family happenings, rants, raves, stuff about the government, our dirty laundry, or anything that is temporary in nature or not related to boats and boating. As Mike says, this forum is only available to members, so our guests won't see our family squabbles!

The threads on That's Life will disappear 90 days after the last post. This gets rid of posts that don't belong in the archives.

But, lets remember the basic (and only) rule of this site, JUST BE NICE!

This basic rule applies to this forum as it does to the other forums!!!

If you have an opinion, (don't we all!) post it, but don't attack another person for their posting their opinion!

Dispute the message if you want, but don't insult the author.

If we follow these common sense guidelines, big daddy Bill (Da Nag) won't have to put the lock on threads!!

So lets play nice!!

The above is my opinion, what's yours?

Larry H

PS: For those members who don't want to read off-topic posts, please don't click on threads on the That's Life forum.

Larry H-

Nice reminder about the "That's Life" category for threads!

AND some nice reminders of how to courteously interact with other C-Brat posters!

Additionally, I'd like to remind everyone of TyBoo Mike's original introduction (quoted below) to this area of discussion. It was not intended to be an outlet of angry feelings, frustrations, or rants against each other, but a friendly place to discuss things amicably among friends.
