Where are all the boats?

We are sitting at the dock in Gorge Harbour on Cortez Island and are the only boat here. Melanie cove was empty, just us and two other boats, both friends we were meeting up with. Four boats in Roscoe Cove including our friends and the lake was warm enough for swimming. 23 degrees C today sunshine... So where is everyone?

Found a new set of trails today walking along the road to Whaletown. Just before the firehall is the new Whaletown Common with well signed trails and some great old growth trees. Saw a great horned owl in there. Now is one of the best times to boat in Desolation Sound!
 
Enjoy the quiet as it is about to end!! You are going to get company soon, the harbour here is full of northbounds, it blew here the last few days and the place filled up. Sam and flotilla are underway also with the Waggoner group, I believe he plans a stop in Gorge,
Late May, if its warm is a very good time to be in Desolation, the critters are still viewable, they go into the woods soon

Kinda wondering that my self. We pulled into Maple Bay Marina Friday around 5 and we were the only boat on one side of a long finger.. Maybe a bit early in the season but weather has been great. Not complaining but what's up with that. :? Talked to Sam briefly on the radio Sunday as he was heading north for Alaska

Well, I know where one boat is...Daydream is at Sterling Kayaks in Bellingham for some fiberglass repair. Sounds like maybe the last couple of weeks of May are the time to head to Desolation Sound! Wish we were there!
