Wow, what a great setup...but there's no name of an owner? Is that a homemade or casted cover?

Our baby is due this Friday....but we won't get to hold her for another couple weeks probably while she's getting rigged....yipppeeee!

This one?

That is on the now Judy Blue Eyes, formerly the TyBoo(22). Its purpose was to secure the fishing poles in the outside rack when overnighting at the dock.

Is is just fabbed up out of some PVC lumber for the sides, plastic cellular sign board for the front, and covered with a single sheet of 1/4" clear polycarbonate with a bend on top. The decal is between the white cover board and the clear. It isn't theft proof by any means, but it will cause the thief to make enough racket getting it off that the guy sleeping inside the boat would wake up. It is "locked" with a threaded rod from the inside of the cabin. When opened, it just lifts off the hinge to get it out of the way.

Congrats on being so close to your boat! You won't be wanting to drill any holes in it right away, whether you want a reel cover or not! Let us know when you want an album to show her off.

In other words, he works miracles.... that Tyboo Mike is one special craftsman. :thup {insert icon for green with envy}....

Nope - I come up with a good idea every now and again, but the real craftsmen are folks like Anna Leigh David, Knot Yacht Dale, Chris with the Project Boat, and most of the time, B~C, to name just a few.

My motto is: Functional, not fancy. Practical, not pretty. Looks bad, works damn good. (And Da Nerd will give you a prize if you figure out what song that line came from.)

Kind of you to say Mike. It does help that I am no longer working. The 25 is coming along nicely.

Here's a great before and after example of amazing craftsmanship. Chris' Project Boat when he got it, and the newly posted picture in his album:
