Why is it?

Have you ever noticed or wondered why the photo album hits are considerably higher if there is a woman in the photo.
No kidding, look for your self, this holds true in ALL of your albums.
Surely one of you smart fellers has some incite into this.
Mike

Perhaps the purpose was to incite.

As far as insight goes, it doesn't take a real "smart feller" to figure out why.

I don't know about the rest of you but I'm reading the articles and looking at the boats.
Having a women in a bikini on a boat is like having a gun. You always know its there. 8)

Considering how quickly the Rossie/CBGT thread got locked down, any bets on how long before this thread is locked down?

I was in the imaging/photography industry most of my adult life. There is a reason pretty girls are used in advertising - it makes people look (duh!). If it's an attractive woman, other women want to look like her, and men want to look AT her. If it's an attractive guy, women may look but don't want a guy who is better looking than they are, AND guys (well, most guys) don't want to look at a guy.

One of my favorite classes in college was called "Subliminal Seduction"... nothing to do with seduction, but all about the psychology of advertising. Very interesting and served me well in my career.

We're here because of the boats. Toss a pretty woman in there and most guys will be inclined to take a look... or a longer look... or a second (or third) look. Yep, more hits.

Um... you just noticed that, Mike? :wink What have you been looking at???

Best wishes,
Jim B.

Naw, Warren. Your thread started with a valid and sensible subject then deteriorated to nonsense. This one started out just the opposite and will turn out to be quite fun. The only thing I can figure is it's the long dark winters up there that makes our good friend Mike wonder such a thing. I was going to write up a long-winded erudite explanation of why some pictures get more hits than others, but the only intelligent thing I could think of at the time was "Duh".

What surprises me is the one picture on here that should be an Internet sensation has gotten a relatively small number of views. Nobody better link to it either, or it's gone. This is not a contest.

wow, checked my album, shot of me driving the boat: 18 hits, shot of my girlfriend driving the boat: 50 hits, both pics posted at the same time, cant say i blame anyone, i cant keep my eyes off her myself... this post did remind me of something i was pondering recently though, which is the demographics pertaining to c-dory owners, percent male vs. female, average age, average income, and so on, obviously, im not asking anyone to disclose this information, but its interesting to look at, although girls are more than welcome, this does seem to be a bit of a boys club, if you had to sell c-dory's who would you target, where would you advertise, why...

Ha ha - we're guys!

You've got that right. Additionally, some of us may be considered old, but we ain't dead.... :wink .

I overheard this conversation between Joan and a client years ago...

Client: "Does it bother you that Jim is working with those pretty girls all day long?"

Joan: "It's his job... besides, he's harmless."

I didn't particularly take that as a compliment. I prefer a different perspective: all the world is like a big art museum. God put all these pretty things here for us to view. And just like a museum, it doesn't mean that I want to take any of that stuff home and have it in my house. :wink

I figured that out a long time ago, the popularity of photographic topics here is: Women, dogs, then boats. Scenery, sunsets, dead fish and flowers are far, far down the scale. The only time women photos didn't rank at the top is when I was one of the first to post some interior pics of the new Venture 23 from the 2008 Seattle Boat Show. C.W.

I agree...when I put this picture of a girl gigging a flounder on my home page the hit counter went way above normal.
