Why You Need an iPad and the Navionics App

I just noticed this at the App Store - for those who didn't already buy the Navionics US and Canada iPad app, the price has gone up to $49.99 ($34.99 US only).

As Pat and David have stated, the iPhone version will run on the iPad, but not vice versa. There is a difference in resolution and full screen viewing between the iPhone version and the iPad version on the iPad, but the iPhone version is certainly serviceable on the iPad.

Lots of great info on using the I-Pad for chart plotting, I just thought I would mention that you might want to look at the mount sold by a company called sea sucker, the mount for the I-Pad runs about $90.00 and can be attached to any smooth flat surface and be removed and relocated without tools or using screws.

Be careful how close you mount an Ipad or anything else metal or electronic to any of your compasses. It will drive them crazy.
You could fasten an Ipad to the underside of the hatch in the V berth and watch a movie in bed.
