Window Restoration for 1992 Cruiser with Aluminum Frames

Please refer to my album for pictures of this project. I could not figure out how to post them in this e-mail.

First, I called Diamond Sea Glaze, and they were no help at all. They just referred me back to their web site to order replacement parts. However, they would not tell me what parts I needed.

Therefore, here are my questions:

Should I remove the windows to scrape and repaint?
After the old paint is removed, should the aluminum frame be primed?
What paint should I use to reapply?

What part should I use to replace the aluminum support that is in the middle of the sliding window frame?

Which outside gasket should I use for the sliding windows?

In addition, what other parts should I use to replace the track that the sliding windows rest on?

Thank you everyone for your help.

Hi Jim,

Have you seen the previous threads on the weather gaskets for these (bare aluminum colored) windows on the older 22's? At one point I was seriously considering buying one of your vintage (when I was 22 shopping) and it had some window gasket issues, so I did a bunch of searches and did turn up some info/part numbers, etc. I ended up buying a different boat with the "new" style windows, but let me see if I can re-dig-up the links to post here (in case you have not seen them).

Here is one thread:

And another that I also think has links to the others:
