I had some problems with a monitor at my rear helm. The liquid crystals broke and leaked which ruined the display. It happened twice. The manufacturer said the only way that the liquid crystals could be hurt was to physically hit them or to let them freeze and break. I now make sure the monitors never freeze since I knew they weren't hit. I don't know if it is true or not but I thought that I would pass it on.
