Winterizing my 25

I'm winterizing my 25 here in valdez. I'm going to put the rv antifreeze in my fresh water tank and then turn on the pump to charge the lines. How do I bypass the hot water heater? Seems like there should be a bypass valve.

Terry, I have a 2007 25' cruiser and it is plumbed for bypass of the hot water tank. You might post a picture of the piping, someone will be able to analyze it.

In a 2008 25 there will be a drain valve in the bottom of the hot water heater. Also in my last 25 there were dual water lines from a manifold after the water pump, so there was a greater volume of hoses to fill with the RV antifreeze. We removed the factory water heater, cut out these extra hoses, and put a 2 1/2 gallon Bosch water heater right under the galley sink. This got rid of the dead space of water you wasted trying to get hot water for both the sink and the shower.

Thanks Dave. I'll try that. And thanks Bob, great idea. I'll look into doing just that. Just finished two months fishing here in Valdez. Great season and I absolutely love the new boat. Loved my 22 but this one is a big step up

On our 25(also named Raven) we installed an RV bypass for the water heater tank, easily available at Camping World, etc. That way you drain your HW heater and use much less RV antifreeze for your system. Don't forget the shower and the head.
