How about this from Yandina:

PREVENT DINGHY THEFT

Dinghy theft, especially when visiting overseas, can be a constant worry but for only $9.95 we have the ultimate solution, suitable for all types of dinghy up to 15 feet.

Introducing the BURGLAR PROOF KNOT

Tie your dinghy to a solid fixture using our BURGLAR PROOF KNOT. Although you know the secret and can tie and untie it in seconds, the burglar will struggle for hours and be thwarted. This secret knot, imported from India, comes with full instructions and a sample knot for only $9.95 plus $3.50 shipping by priority mail. Full refund excluding shipping if anyone (who has not been told the secret) can untie it and steal your dinghy.

This item now comes with a genuine CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY.

SPECIAL NOTE: This secret knot will not be sold to thieves. If you are dishonest, we will accept your order but will ship you a fake knot and will not refund your money.

Yandina has been controversial on a number of forums during the years.

If you really want to prevent dinghy theft, use a 15 foot 3/16" vinyl covered cable, with eyes swaged in both ends. Put an eye bolt in the transom, and peen over the threads, to prevent removal of the nut of the eye bolt. Thread the one end of the cable thru the eye bolt, and then back thru the other eye. Use a combination paddock to secure the dinghy to a dock--either thru a bull rail, between he planks, or around a piling. If in "dangerous areas" put the dinghy back on the boat at night. You can send the $9.95 you just saved to the kitty for the C Brat forum--and sleep better at night, since your dinghy is much less likely to be stolen with a cable. Many thieves carry knives--few carry cable cutters… Never think that your dinghy is "secure" by cabling thru the bow or towing eye…that can be cut off the inflatable, without harming the fabric of the tubes.

I really like the red, white and blue color scheme for marking the anchor rode/chain. Think I'll do that when my new rode and chain gets here from Defender this week. Thanks for the link. ken
