Yet another poll...

Just painted the master bathroom Benjamin Moore Muslin with Simply White trim. Muslin would be a good upholstery color as it looks good with white and black -- piping or accent.

Could do a white hull with black striping and light tan non skid -- I had all of my Ranger 20 sailboats done with the light tan non skid. Also had black anodized masts on most of them.

I have to agree with bill on the non skip. The boats with a off white or tan non skid just look better and even thought it has nothing to do with workmanship or quality it leaves an impression of a higher class boat to me. I don't know if it changes the cost or its just something you have to pick out ahead of time but if i was to order a boat today, and you build to order, a tan non skid and a colored hull would be top on my list.

No shortage of ideas out there. Regardless of color choice the
Marinaut is going to look great at the show. As a personal preference
I would opt for the white or light interior for the feeling of roominess
and accented with teak trim, tan non-skid would be a nice touch and distinguish
itself from the norm. As an exterior color I would have to
go with Cabernet (for which you may call me hopelessly prejudicial).

Ahhhh, Les, international orange or lime green should only be
considered if you plan on throwing a hell'uva a party on the boat
at the show! As a sidelight, I looked at a 22' CD in Washington
in the early '90s that was done in international orange and have to
admit.............the color was impressive. The image is still with me.

The non-skid on the Marinaut is not broken up very much, it's pretty much the entire side deck (except right at the aft part of the cockpit), the foredeck, the top of the trunk cabin, and the top of the main cabin.

I just had a look at it and it would probably look pretty nice with color.

It will cost more. Not only is the colored gel coat a fair amount more expensive than white but there's also the labor time necessary to tape off the nonskid areas and spray then separately. I'll ask for a quote on that and let y'all know what the extra cost would be. And if it's not too scary I'll offer it as an option on our website.

Les, I'm working on a process to create a paisley gel coat. Once I get that worked out, we're going for plaid. Both would look awesome on a Marinaut. :wink:

On Sea Angel I placed 'Dry Deck' under the cabin carpet runner. The has added some cushion and allowed it to 'breath', so no mold and easy to keep clean. It isn't cheap, but effective. I believe it took me abt an hour to custom fit the squares in place.

Not sure if there is a cost effective way to do it, but I like gold trim. A dark green and tan hull with anodized gold (aluminum) windows frames and trim, is there a way to make the bow rail gold?

Do you want it to stand out at the boat show or not? A nice tartan plain would be completely unique and you'd have a lock on the Scottish buyers. :wink:

I think a wine color hull with the upper half a cream color would Look great the Mainship 30 pilot has that color and they are stunning. the wine colored ranger tug are very attractive as well would look great on the Marinaut

I vote for Puce.

It would go well with my "man purse". Tell all the story sometime... Biker Bar, Chester VA, "Steel Horse Saloon" waiting for a flight to CA during IRENE. Man Purse, (I prefer "mini briefcase".... :roll: ) got lots of looks!! Sally made me wear it so I wouldn't lose our plane tickets... At least it said "LL Bean" on it and not "Victoria's Secret!!" :crook
