Towing Tomcat with 3/4 ton Modern Gas Motor?

Either one of those trucks will pull that boat just fine. Modern pickups have so much power and so many gears....it will probably tow it great as that boat isn't really that heavy and well within the capacity. I'm not even sure gas mileage will be that bad if you're conscientious, but it won't...

    Thinking about selling 2025 TomCat

I don't think you're out of line on that price, but it sure is a big old pile of money....

    Thinking about selling 2025 TomCat

Bob is right about knowing the upgrades....they're huge and make a difference. But with that said, you're likely going to take a substantial hit upon selling it this early in the game. If it were 10 years old, you might just get what you paid for it like Bob illustrated. Just as an example...

Would You Cruise San Juan Islands in 16' C-Dory?

If a 16 was all I had, then yeah I sure would. You will have to be more selective on the days you go, but it is amazing what a 16 foot will do in the right hands.

Unusual C-Dory sighted for sale in Calif.

I won't comment on how it got this way because Bob's deductions are probably pointing us in the right direction, but man did somebody beat on it with the ugly stick!

    Surge Brakes Locked Up

Normally one would lock out the actuator when backing up to prevent the rear brakes from engaging. Obviously, there are times when this isn't needed, but if there is enough force to move the actuator, then it is going to engage the brakes and it's going to do everything everyone has noted. So...

    Keep trailer or sell it?

A trailer is a wonderful thing in my opinion. Mooring a boat in one spot? Boring...at least eventually. And for the most part.....and the worst part.....you probably won't get anywhere near the dollar number you think you're going to get for your used trailer.

    WTB a cdory 😭

All fjords have the propensity to blow up during certain weather conditions. It doesn't really matter where....BC, AK, Norway, or Chili. The results are generally the same: steep tightly spaced chop accentuated by strong winds and tidal currents, general nastiness around points and capes, and...

    Aluminum ... A-dory?

Alloy boats do look a lot alike....I have a Crestliner and it is great. And yeah, Kingfishers are everywhere so they are doing lots of things right. But alloy has disadvantages too....not that fiberglass doesn't....All of the alloy boats I have had eventually developed cracks that needed to be...

    Diesel heater exhaust

You are correct and I am well aware of that limitation. It generally says in the installation manual on the max length of the exhaust run. However, I do not think he's going to run into the max on his installation...but that's just a guess.

    Diesel heater exhaust

Many larger boats are going to have an install with the exhaust higher than the furnace. It is because of the water as noted and there are work arounds....not really that big of a deal.

    Charging Dual Batteries

As others pointed out, it's generally fine if the batteries are the same size and chemistry. They are correct it's not a good practice to mix the chemistry. But there is a mountain of anecdotal examples out there going against the grain...Think of how many RVs are out there with AGMs as house...

New to me Boat questions, round one

They are all that, but I would call them pretty affordable compared to yeti and the others for what you get. I bought one a couple of years ago and it is a big upgrade over the old coleman and igloos I have lying around.

    Sport Trail order

If those are your 2 only choices, it is usually better to have reserve capacity then it is to wish you had it. And everything I have read, says you are in the ballpark on how much a CD25 weighs loaded to actually use. But wow, that is a big jump in axle capacity....makes me wonder if they know...

1998 Honda BF90 spare parts to carry

I would say checking the timing belt is a very good idea. But with that said, they last about forever for most boaters.
