    Tach problem

Jack, I assume that at the back of the tach you mean at the dash? I will start the process of tracing electrical connections this coming weekend when I have some free time. Thanks for the replies. Dan

    Tach problem

Joe, I think you are right, I must have something funky going on from corrosion, because my raw water wash down does not function either. Guess I will get a volt meter and start tracing the leads to see what the problem is. Thanks for the input. Dan

    Tach problem

Hi all, Just a question regarding the tach on a honda 90, it has worked perfectly since new but yesterday it would not give me a reading. Then about an hour in to the trip it began to register but it would not read above 3500 any ideas? Dan

Loss of balance - what's the problem?

Kathleen, It is unsettling when this happens to say the least. I have experienced the same sensation on my 22 with the same setup as you describe. I found that it was just a matter of over correction on the trim tabs and that people moving about when you are running was the biggest influence...

    Crabbing in the San Juans

Brats, Went out for crab yesterday only got three legal. We had five posts fishing, all at differing depths and locations. We set pots at Port Susan and the East side of Camano Island, it was a good day on the water but a little disappointing considering the effort and expense of trying to find...

    Trim Tabs for 22' cruiser

SJ21617 I have both items on my 22' cruiser and I would not leave port without trim tabs, I added them after one trip and I love the trip when I can trim the boat. The trim tabs allow for weights shift side to side and water conditions. Dan.

    hour meter

Interesting information. It would seem that there could be any number of ways that time is recorded depending on what type of unit you have. I would think that the best way to measure use would be to have a variable speed setup, it would seem that high rpms and low idle rpms need to be accounted...

    hour meter

Ok brats help me out, does anyone know if a hour meter records straight time run or is the time recorded varied with rpms? Or better stated does the hour meter show more hours at full throttle then at idle? Thanks for your input, Dan

    HD Radar

Dave, I would say that radar is a plus, it is fairly cheap insurance for the peace of mind it gives to boating. I have it on my 22' and would not travel without it. As for hd I have not used it so I can not speak to those issues. Dan.

    e-bay 2005 26' Pro Angler C-Dory

Outstanding!!! That is one sweet ride, I'm sure you will enjoy fishing and boating from that platform. Are you going to spend any time in Washington? I would love to see the boat if you are. Dan

    Bilge pump died

I do not have any experience with this type of problem, but your statement that there is a deformity makes me think of a freezing problem. Was the unit exposed to the elements where it could have had water freeze and cause a problem? Dan

    Fishing the Queen Charlotte Islands

Ken, I have been there a couple of times but not on my own boat, I stayed at a great resort and it was the best fishing I have experienced. I have considered the same trip and have looked into places to stay at Massart and have heard of others purchusing bait and fuel from from one of the...

Fishing Trip West Coast Vancouver Island

Ken, I will be there on the 9th of August, and will hook up for a drink and fish stories. Did you know that this is the last year that the camp grounds are going to be there? Island West will be building condo's next year. They say that they will still have the docks but this is the last...

    Fishing in Sekiu

Brats, Thanks for the information, I called out to Vanrippen's to reserve a slip but the do not take reservations, so I guess I'll just take my chances. I will try to contact Olsen's today and see about a spot. Chuck do you use bait or down rigger fish for the best success? Mwilson did you...

    Fishing in Sekiu

Brats, I was thinking of going to Sekiu and try for a salmon or two this weekend, has anyone been lately? The fishing reports says they are getting a few, I just want to know if it is worth the effort, not that spending the weekend on the boat would not be reward enough. Thanks for any...

Checking for water under the vee berth

Barry, I installed a piece of tube in the hole in the hull that passes in to the anchor rode compartment, this tube bridged the gap between the hull and the rode compartment so that the water can transfer without leaking into the vee-berth area. Just bed the flanged end in a bed of caulk and...

Checking for water under the vee berth

Patti and Barry, On my 22' cruiser I just put a fingernail under it and poop it out, it may take a putty knife to remove it the first time but after that it comes out with no trouble. I had water in the area last year and found that water was coming in at the port side clamshell area. The...

    Tow vehicle question

Gary, I just went for a ride with the owner of the shop that did the work and as you stated the truck will hardly get out of it own way. He stated that it was not the transmission or the torque converter but he felt it was most likely the catalytic converter as the truck performs well till you...

    Tow vehicle question

Brats, Just to give a little history regarding the torque converter issue, I had a seal problem with the original one that came with the truck so I had it replaced, it seemed to be working fine until I put a load on it with both the boat and camper. There is no problem with drag from a brake...
