    Spring prep questions

This might be of help. I was advised to spray WD40 down the outlet. Worked like a charm. I was advised that salt can block the channel and WD40 clears it out. Good luck Ed

    Raymarine S1000 installation on a C-Dory 22

Peter and all: Thanks for your advice. We are about to start the installation. The placement of the pump still is not totally resolved. If we install it on the bulkhead in the berth area the hoses do take up space for sleeping. If we install it on the bulkhead in the cabin it seems to fit...

    Raymarine S1000 installation on a C-Dory 22

I am about to attempt the installation of a S1000 auto pilot, and am hoping that someone has already had the experience. My major concern rests in the best placement for the pump. Any advice will be appreciated! Ed

    The Mokai

C.W. I got the impression that the changes would be minor. Lights sound easy and it comes with an anchor set up. Ed

    The Mokai

Jay Thanks for taking the time to respond. With the information provided, I believe the Mokai would be a winner for our needs. I contacted Marie at Mokai - very pleasant and informative. My daughters and I will be taking a drive to the factory in Newburg, NY this Friday. She informed me that...

    The Mokai

After reviewing, for about the fifth time, the great pictures of the Hunkydory adventure I continue to be facinated by the Mokai. I am about ready to sacrifice my daughters' meal plans and purchase one. Before I put these young women on diets I would appreciate any feedback on use. Towing...

Battery Charger, AC and the water tank

Mike and Joe Thanks for the advice. My only concern is the cut out of the dinette seat. After managing to puncture the port fuel tank while installing the tabs, I have a healthy respect for what might happen. I cut the blade of the saber saw to a length that on the down stroke it will not hit...

Battery Charger, AC and the water tank

Joe, Thanks for the advice. Yes I believe that would put the boat rather off balance. It might give me an excuse, however, to overindulge all in the interest of safety. I believe I will retreat to a between the fuel tanks position. It appears that the water tank compartment is a "molded in...

Battery Charger, AC and the water tank

For some time I keep returning to Mike's (Shelly IV) post and pictures on his set up for the charger, ac panel and all that goes with it. The water tank area seems to provide an answer for many of my questions regarding placement and space. We, however, have a 2007 model of the C-22 and the...

    Underwater Camera

Caty: I have had one of these units for two years. I use it for dock inspections and lost treasures. You can adjust the angle of attack by sliding the weight. Hope it helps. Ed

    Hoisting the dinghy

Warren and Joe: Thanks for the information. I am going to opt for Warren's Plan B. It seems to be the most direct and perhaps most economical. When it comes to boating the line between needs and wants does appear to get blurred. Thanks for your help! Ed

    Hoisting the dinghy

Some time ago I came across a C-Brat that developed a davit system to hoist a dinghy to the cabin top. Does anyone recall where I might rediscover this posting? This site is almost as much fun as boating! Thanks for your help. Ed

Matching a rectangle and circle NMEA

I am attempting to interface the S1 to the chart plotter. The S1 has a rectangle data cable while the chart plotter has a circle pin connector. There rests the problem. The color of the wires do not appear to match. I am wondering should I mate the ins and outs and forget colors? Again Thanks

Matching a rectangle and circle NMEA

I am attempting to install an auto pilot S1 and a Ray Marine GPS. I have read and reread the manuals, tried to match wire colors but am still confused. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks Ed

    Yamaha 1000,s in tandem.

Joe; Thanks for the return. Our generator is a Yamaha and not a Honda. I might have made an unwise purchase considering our wish to combine two 1000s. I have searched the Yamaha site but there is no mention of combining two units. Oh well. Let every day be a learning experience. Ed

    Yamaha 1000,s in tandem.

I have recently purchased a Yamaha 1000 generator and am questioning the possibility of linking another Yamaha 1000 if a need for more output presents itself. Has anyone addressed this issue? Also, thanks for all the input on the spotlight. Not purchasing a spotlight gave me some resources to...

    Radar vs. Spotlight

We are about to purchase and mount a spotlight on the overhead. The radar is on a five inch mount and most lights will stand 6 inches. Ideally we would like to mount it on the centerline. Absent that location, would could mount it to the starboard side. What are the chances that we will...

    fuel tank repair

Joe; Thanks for the ideas. The devil did not go through the tank wall but rather left what I described to my Dad as a nick. The screw treatment might be overkill inthis case. I will search for the sealant. Again, Thanks
