    05/12 - 05/14 - Friday Harbor C-Brats Get-Together

Ugh...forecast is looking a little gnarly Wednesday through Saturday. What are you other attendees thinking? I'd hate to miss out on our first CBGT...but that may be one rough ride. https://marine.weather.gov/MapClick.php?zoneid=pzz133#

    05/12 - 05/14 - Friday Harbor C-Brats Get-Together

Okay. She's all washed and cleaned up. Diver cleaned and inspected the hull yesterday. Fire bottle passed the new '12 year' check. Need to get new registration this afternoon...wire in the new nav white light tomorrow...fill up the gas tanks on Sunday. Still need to negotiate a route with my...

    Seattle Boat Show

I went to the show on Friday. Was hoping to see more from the engine manufactures and some of the new technologies we've reading about lately...electric and diesel outboards. There were a few boats that had some of these mounted...but no real detail on the technology. Deals...uh, no. Sticker...

Tom Cat 255 vs 25' Cruiser

It was a cost thing after looking at a few late model 255's for sale that lead us to put a factory order in for a new 25' Cruiser. Before the build started, we got lucky and stumbled into a TC24 one Sunday morning. Didn't realize it at the time, but it turns out for me, its all about the amazing...

    Cabin Top...Fiberglass Or Cored?

    Cabin Top...Fiberglass Or Cored?

First true PacNW rainstorm this weekend since we bought our 99 TC-24 earlier this summer. I thought the seal on the mast light might be questionable. The bracket (aft end of cabin top, center line) is slightly bent. And sure enough, I'm getting some droplets inside the cabin at the overhead...

Navigating Deception Pass (Whidbey Island, WA)

It was crazy how quickly conditions changed. It was perfectly clear and sunny one second...and not minutes later, a very low marine layer came through dropping visibility to next to nothing. It seems like a place where its not one thing in particular that can bite you...but multiple distractions...

Navigating Deception Pass (Whidbey Island, WA)

I spent the last couple days camping (land-lubbing) at Deception Pass State Park. We hiked up on to the bridge and spent some time up there just enamored by the beauty...and by the swirling currents and the various boats navigating that treacherous stretch. I was amazed by a log that was shot...

    TC24 Convertible Dinette/Berth?

Hmmm, poking around and learning about our boat...looks like I'm missing a few items to make the dinette into a 'convertible' berth. The table does swing up...a bit off fully vertical...but no latching mechanism to hold it in place. Both hinges are fixed so the table isn't removable. The bench...

    ‘99 Tomcat

So on the TC24, I have a spot in the aft port quarter of the cockpit deck that ‘crackled’ with pressure applied. No soft spot…maybe just missing epoxy bonding. Previous owner said it had always been like that. On today’s run out on the Sound, noted that the ‘crackle’ is gone…with the motors...

    24’ Tomcat Sponson Access

Question for any 24’ Tomcat (1999) owners out there. Taking a look at one for sale in PNW today. I’m not seeing any access covers to inspect the sponsons/voids under the cockpit deck. There has to be an access point for bilge pumps somewhere without having to cut something out, right? Also...
