    Looping

I like riding long distances on motorcycles. I'm a member of the Iron Butt Association http://www.ironbutt.com/ which promotes long distance rides in relatively short periods of time: 1,000 miles in 24 hours, coast to coast in 50 hours, 48 states in 10 days etc. It's about the riding, vs...

If you mean Skipper Bud's, Clinton Marina then it is a great choice. They are a first rate marina operator.

    What happened to Customer Service

You are not alone. In fact, I complimented a business the other day for 1. Having a person answer the phone. 2. Being knowledgeable about the product. 3. Acting like they wanted me to be a customer. Harder and harder to find for some reason. I've never owned or run a business so I don't...

    Bought a new windlass recently?

Yes I just bought a Lewmar Pro Series 700 H from Hodges Marine for $744. One or two negatives don't bother me if the overwhelming responses are positive. Seems to be a pretty popular choice here. Do a search. Lots of posts.

Getting Balance Right the First Time

Sounds like a good plan to me. Bringing along a couple of cases of beer for " trim ballast" would also work. An aside: I have enjoyed this site because the moderation isn't heavy handed and allows for interesting responses that may be somewhat OT. These threads allow members to get to...

Getting Balance Right the First Time

I have a set of trim tabs in the garage that need to be installed on Willow. When we were on KY lake a couple of months ago, I wish I had them to trim the bow down. I'm not installing Permatrim's. IMO with the trim tabs, the need for Permatrim's is nill. Someone can correct me if the is an...

The Challenge of Buying A Used C-Dory

Aye. Grandpa used to say, "Looking is much more fun than owning." Or as my good friend says: "It is better to know someone who owns a boat than to own one yourself."[/b]

Need folding chairs for your cockpit?

I'm not surprised they are available for purchase. I would be surprised if they sold many. But some people think the more the spend, the better items must be. Is there a "tongue in cheek" emoticon here? I am kind of partial to this one:

The Challenge of Buying A Used C-Dory

We've towed sailboats from the Keys to BC and most places in between. Trailer problems for the most part are due to a lack of maintenance. They are really pretty simple. I'm surprised to hear two different opinions re the Wallas stoves. People either love them or hate them. What causes the...

    School me on Inflatable PFD's

Type II performance would indicate 16 lbs buoyancy. Type V is a "special use" PFD. Intended Use: Restricted to the special use for which each is designed, for example: sailboard harness, deck suit, paddling vest, commercial white water vest or float coats.
