    Looks different.....

Am I just not as informed as I might be, or is this boat....."different"? How's about that 2-pane windshield and the single lapstrake side? http://juneau.craigslist.org/boa/3274762201.html Aloha, Steve

Repowering 16' Angler, battery charging choices

just a comment/clarification do dawd- if your total electrical draw is 2 amps, and your charging system output is 3 amps, your net battery charging ability is 1 amp. Your charging system doesn't care whether you're sticking that 1 amp in an 8D (huge) battery or a U1 (lawnmower) battery, or...

    EFI Honda 90 help!

Les, thanks for covering this issue better and more completely than my late-night attempt. I agree with every word. Oh, and Mike, both the part #'s for the tstat and cover that you listed are invalid #'s....All Bf90d owners need to understand that their engine has 2 thermostats, one for cyl...

    EFI Honda 90 help!

On the phone for hours on hold? Never happened to me. If I need a Honda part quickly, 2 minutes on the computer and I know for sure it's on its way to me as quickly as I choose. Different business styles, I guess. I can't dis the AK dealer, though. This is the height of their short, busy...

    EFI Honda 90 help!

Sorry I'm late to this discussion. As said before, I'm a Honda Marine dealer. It's late so I'll just make some random comments. Previously mentioned Ser. Bull. #50 and #56 are related to BF200 and225 engines- totally unrelated to the BF90. S.B. #73 relates to oil dilution on BF90D engines...

I think I have too many hobbies

Joe, you hit that nail on the head (strange comment, as I've been hanging drywall all day with a screw gun...). Let's see, 16 motorcycles, at least 7 boats, only a few cars (most all aquired under the "gonna be a great ride someday" philosophy), don't forget the shootin' irons, aforementioned...

    How tight is tight?

Not to be a spoilsport or anything, but, has anyone actually had an engine fall off or come perilously loose? Can't say I've ever seen it in my 26 yrs of outboard mechanics....We're not counting kickers here...Aloha, Steve.

    How tight is tight?

Yup. Just looked at my 2012 Honda Marine Outboard Rigging Guide. All 12mm engine mounting bolts- 40-225 HP engines- 40 ft/lbs of torque. They come pretty long from the factory- don't be tempted to use an air tool to run the nuts down...you'll probably gall the metal and ruin the bolts and/or...

    Motor Trouble--Any Ideas?

Definitely late to this conversation, but just ran across it and thought I'd add my advise that no one else has covered. Two stroke engines by nature will usually have a build up of oil residue on the inside of the exhaust housing. If a thermostat gets stuck by corrosion, or defect, in the...

    The Facts On Fish Farms

You said it forrest. Too many people, too small a planet. Sigh. But nobody wants to discuss that topic...not a boat issue, just a survival issue...Aloha, Steve.

The Most IMPORTANT Video You'll Ever See (part 6 of 8)

Hey, Redfox, as a new guy, I'm treading on this ice with some trepidation. But this is General Chat, right, and, as you brought it up...That wonderful gift- liquid fuel/oil- is in limited supply, looking from the point of view of your grandkids. If you are inclined to understand more of what...
