01/21 - 01/23 Seattle Boat Show/C-Brat Gathering

Will C Dory be at the Seattle Boat Show? My dad (82) wants a C Dory and is VERY interested in going. I'll have to fly to Spokane and pick him up and drive to Seattle. Also, where is the new CD factory located? Will Marinaut be there? We're new to all this! Thanks, Major Buzz

We do not know at this time what vessels may, or may not, be at the show. It will all depend on what is in stock, and final plans won't be made until around Christmas time.

Expect this year's Seattle Boat Show to be smaller than last year's, which was much smaller tha the year before. Tough times in the industry. We will be there, our space is reserved. We won't know until December where our space will be, it's shape, or any of a number of variables.

Sally and I have all of our reservations in place, hotel, car and airlines. After reading (and seeing) many things like THIS in the past few weeks, we have decided to forgo the trip if this procedure is still in place, even though we will lose the price of the tickets (>$675) due their "non refundable" process.

We will miss our friends but I suspect this will alter many folks plans. They have a full body scanner here at Richmond and now at SeaTac but the possibility of getting there "untouched" and being stranded due to not accepting the mandatory full pat down is just too great. While I do not like the full scan (I have a titanium knee and always get "picked") it is quick and I do it.

I believe that it will be the same as last year: dinner out (steak restaurant last year) Friday night, boat show Saturday day, potluck & swap meet Saturday night, go home Sunday after breakfast -- basically the same as almost all CBGTs!

Warren might be right, but somewhere in there you might want to save time for a trip north to Ferndale...it looks like the CBC contingent will be small enough that we would not overrun Triton Marine, and it is really interesting to see C-Dory's new home. If you ever went to the Kent factory before the move to Auburn, it will sort of be deja vu all over again! And Scott Boysen is a great host.

In years past we have had the main potluck on friday night and then the factory party on saturday night.
last year we had the main potluck on friday and then had use of the facility on sat afternoon and evening for whatever happens. we had a good sort of swap meet on saturday evening and it was very successful.depending on what is left in the kitty on saturday we could possibly order out some pizzas or something.
a lot of people go to the boat show on saturday but as time gets closer we could work some sort of factory trip in if possible.
one needs to be reminded that the factory is in Ferndale now , which is about 90 to 100 miles north of the motel.

After a little research of the photo properties, I found this photo of us all at dinner on Saturday Jan, 30, 2010. So the Pot Luck must have been Friday night.
