01/26 - 01/28 Seattle Boat Show 2018

I just confirmed with the Inn at the Market that the conference room will have plug-ins available in the room so there will be power for crock pots if needed.

To all,

I talked Shelly Wooden, the wonderful sales and marketing coordinator at the hotel Inn @the Market, that Peter of C dancer set up for us.

We are in the courtyard room, that has several outlets and kitchen counter tops on either end of the room . We will have plates, silverware and napkins set up for 32 people. No issue if we have a few more. I will be bringing some cdory supplies like extra napkins, cups plates bowls. and serving utensils

All of us can come early to drop stuff off in the room. i will be bringing a crock pot at 9am to plug and start in the room. so if you would like to bring things to drop off before you head to the boat show.

Just a reminder there is no parking at the hotel so you will have to find street parking. or take an uber.

also remember that you can have food delivered to the hotel and there is also the service called "Uber eats: where uber delivers your food.

we will be bringing some diet coke , enchilada casserole and chocolate chip cookies. gluten free even

here is a picture of the room

I have my tickets for Saturday and signed up for the
Boat Show University
Staying Local - Cruising Puget Sound, and the San Juan and Gulf Islands 9:00 to Noon

I am not sure how it is going to work since according to the web site
The class begins at 9:00
The show does not begin until 10:00
and
Bell Street parking does not open up until 11:00 AM

Well - I do like adventures. javascript:emoticon('')

Good morning! It looks like we will make the boat show for a few hours. We have to get back home tonight so it will just be for the day.

Here is an album for all the pictures.

See you there!

Nice, can't wait to see some boat show pics. Would also like to see some pics of all the Brats at the hotel table. It'd be great to put a face to all the screen names!

I went yesterday for yesterday for a few hours, but I'll skip the Saturday/Sunday crowd and go back on Monday. I saw a boat across the arena that looked interesting and chuckled when I went over and saw it was a TomCat. Turns out that it was just about $100K more than what I paid for my 16. I think I'll stick with the 16 for at least another year.

Mason and Jefferson Counties just reported power outages from high winds. The gusts just started across the Sound and Bell Harbor Marina now (11:30 am) has white caps inside the breakwater. It's going to be windy down town tonight.

Tristan and I are here at the show. Recording some material for our radio show tomorrow. We're spending some time in the KidZone which is aisle 500 of the West Hall.

Sorry you missed it Tim, It was nice to see many of the Brats after the show and talk boats and travel.

Thanks for arranging the space Susan and Thanks to Peter for making your room available at the Market location.

We had a great day and went home quite tired.

Greg

We would like to send a big thank you to the C-Brats at the Seattle Boat Show get together for making us feel so welcome. It was really nice to visit with you and get to put some faces to the names. Whether we are traveling with a boat or without, hanging out with fellow Brats from other parts of the country is always a highlight to our trip. Be sure to give us a shout if you ever pass through the Midwest.

Well that worked out well. Big thank you to Susan for the Pot luck. Good turn out. and a really big thank you to Peter for the room at the Inn by the market hotel. That really worked out well. Parking was not that much of a problem. At that time of night i was able to find street parking across the street. I do not think it would have been hard to find parking with in a block of two for everyone.

Thank you all for coming to the pot luck. Susan will be handing it off to who ever wants to set it up next year. Roger bumgarner did raise his hand for the job but being as his wife was not present I will not hold him to it.

Lots of BIG thank yous:

To Susan for all the tiresome phone calls to people and places that don't return calls.
To Peter for making the place available. It was great, with good service and plenty of room. And, glad the tables were not set up in the way they are in the above pictures.
To (and this is a BIG one) the NERDS. Yes my friends, They were there. Great to get to see you guys, but way to short a time. "Howdy" is not a visit, but it is a nice greeting. Thanks again for coming by, and for all you do here.
To Roger for being willing to pick up the process for 2019 SBS CBGT potluck. May we need a hugely bigger room. This really is a worthwhile mid winter event. Just ask the crew from Blue Rose. (Really nice to get to meet you both Jim and Janine ALL THE WAY from Minneapolis MN.
And to Aven, for coming and being the youngest kid there and putting up with all the rest of us "oldies" and for bringing her parents.
And for everyone who showed up there. It was great to get to visit with each and just wish it could have been for more.

Good memories.

Being from a little town where we don't pay for parking, I never thought about the street parking not starting until later (5, I think), so getting there early we wound up in a parking garage several blocks away and for more that the ferry ride to Seattle. Oh well. it was worth it all.

The show was good. Lots of walking. Got don what I needed and saw a beautiful Sam Devlin boat, Surf Scooter 23 for a nice round figure of 199K and some change. But it was G-o-r-g-e-o-u-s :!: I stopped and talked to Ron from NMI on the way out and he reported 2 V-23's sold and possible on a TC-255, so all in all, a pretty good day.

Pretty good bet I won't be able to be at the 2019 SBS although the schedule and venues look interesting. Just wondering if there is any interest?

Nope, the boat is not for sale. But if you are going to the SBS it would be nice.
