Friday night dinner

Let's meet at the main silver cloud lobby 1st floor at 6:30 pm or so ...so tom and I can shuttle people over to the restaurant Bucca di Beppo

This is Tom in the shuttle. I'm making the last trip over to the Silver Cloud Hotel lobby if anybody needs a ride over to the restaurant. I'd recommend it there's virtually no parking over here. I'll be there until almost 7
 
I can't make any of the events due to scheduling conflicts, but I will be wandering around the show today.

(I'm actually not all that hard to spot, reasonably tall, long hair, beard, and tye dye, and even in Seattle, the latter is relatively rare)
 
Wow, am I late to the party!

I had the boat out last weekend, which is a small kind of miracle. Took some visitors out across the Sound.

But other than that, I haven't been thinking much about boating or boats. I got a kid thinking about college, a kid selecting a high school, and little Tristan just randomizing everything he touches. Plus work and volunteering. I guess it makes sense I've dropped the ball on the boat show.

So have fun, everybody! I'm thinking about you, even if we don't make it to the event. We WILL BE at Friday Harbor!
 
Thanks Susan and Tom for organizing a fun event, and it was great to see so many familiar C-Brats! I parked in the Silver Cloud garage and came back to the car to find a window smashed out and my backpack with laptop and iPads gone (along with a duffel of dirty laundry)...thankfully everything important was backed up. Hope the thieves didn't nab any other victims!
 
Sam it was great meeting you, but that is terrible news and hopefully the thieves will get what they deserve. It's hard to believe what people will do for some drug money but that stuff is happening daily - my office is just blocks away and this week alone we had a guy somehow get inside of our gated garage two days in a row, smash windows, steel bicycles, etc. As far as I know he hasn't been caught yet, and doesn't seem like the police really care this is so rampant in Seattle. Really hope you are able to recover the videos, photos, and other memories...the hardware can be replaced but not the intangibles.

Thats a bummer Sam but look on the brightside, new hardware! Better move quick if you have any more device seminars to give. Best of luck and it was great to talk with everyone. Thanks for organizing Susan and Tom. We saw some great boats too.

Yep, new hardware on the way, and no presentations until Thursday! All my pics, videos, and such are backed up. The laptop and iPads were 4-6 years old, so not a huge loss. Just a irritating and expensive!

Thank you Susan and Tom for doing a great job. AND Thank you to everyone who came out. It was great to get to visit with such cool, smart, fun, intelligent, practiced, practical, prominent people. It was great to get to see some from a time ago, and some new folks, and to banter a bit with both the fisher people and the cruisers. And some fun motorcycle chat too. I have to say the pot luck was great but the folks who came make it greatest.

The Boat Show was pretty fun too, but hard to see everything, let alone the things, places and people on my short list. Hope those of you who got to inspect the new C-Dory boats (and others) will put the current pertinent info here.

For those who missed, sorry we didn’t get to see you here. It is really a great get together, and worth the effort.

For Sam, sure sorry to hear about the loss. I would think you went through all the proper stuff, Hotel and SPD notification, and I would ask the hotel about any security video. Sure glad they got the dirty laundry but the rest is a bummer to loose, even with the back ups. Yea nice to get new hardware, but no matter how you cut it, it is a pain, insult and violation. (I have been there and hated it, too, but survived.)

Again, great to see everyone, thanks for the great time, informative conversation and great hugs. Hope to see you on the water, along the way.

Sam,that's too bad. Our nephew had his truck broken into last week in their garage about a mile away. Some bad people among mostly good. Glad you were backed up.

Thanks again this year, Susan, for another splendid event. I sure agree with all others that it was really nice to see everyone and talk boats. Motors, fish, anchors and destinations, too! Thanks for the photos, MikeR.
Sam, I left just after you and it's hard to believe someone slipped in there and vandalized/stole equipment. The gated garage seemed so quiet and safe. I wonder if it's the same guy that Mike mentioned.
Still, it was a fun and very memorable day, and I look forward to seeing you folks out cruising this year.

Sam..... sorry to hear about the break-in of your car. Were you parked in the Silver Cloud's lower or upper parking garage?
