It is that time again. The Seattle Boat show runs from the 27th thru Feb 5th we have locked in the reservations at the Larkspur Landing motel. same place as last year for the first weekend.
here is a email I received from Linda, our great accommodator, for this gathering. If you have any questions or needs as to travel accomodations Linda can help out.

Hi Roger-Sherrel contacted me regarding room rates for next year. She's blocking off 20 rooms and more can probably be added on as needed. She said the hotel has done a renovation knocking out one of the walls so that the breakfast area and lobby are larger. Good news for OUR group! She says it looks GREAT! Room rates haven't increase too much--this is still much cheaper than staying downtown Seattle.
The Queen Studios are $89.00 + tax and the 1 Bedroom King Suites are $104.00 + tax/night. Rooms for our group will be held until Jan 5th, then the space will be released to the general public.
As in the previous years, please have everyone book directly through my office and mail a $10.00 per room booking fee. Thanks, Roger. I look forward to being your "travel agent bookie" once again!

So far, the sign up is rather light, but there's a lot of time remaining, about 2 months.

Who else is going to come?

Do we need a review of the possible activities to encourage some more C-Brats to attend?

Any ideas for additional things to do?

OK, I am going to float an idea here...already discussed with Roger and Peter, it depends on interest from the Brats.

Saturday night is the traditional potluck and I wouldn't want to muck with that.

But Friday night folks generally go out, and here is my idea. it is under 25 miles from the hotel to Snoqualmie Brewery and Taproom, and we just completed a major expansion and remodel around the first of August, so we now have an upstairs banquet room. So my idea is that Friday night out would be at the Taproom. Music would be by the Peter Jamero Experience, which I have had the pleasure of hearing perform, and they are awesome. Since some of their musicians are not Brats, they would need to get paid, and perhaps a "suggested donation" jar might work for that, I have not heard back from Peter on that part.

As for food and beverage, it could either be off the menu or catered, but I can guarantee that having our Taproom staff cater buffet style would be the best deal by far. And they do a GREAT job!

Transportation would need to be figured out, but enough of us from the area would likely have cars, and if we all hooked up with someone form out of the area, this should not be an insurmountable obstacle.

If this sounds like a plan, we need to firm it up soon, since even though David and I are the owners, we still need to make a reservation, and if somebody gets in the Taproom reservation book for our date ahead of us, we would just be out of luck...

Thoughts?

Great Idea. We live close enough to the Larkspur that it would be no problem to give a couple of out-of-towners a ride.

We will be there (minus Aven) and could easily give another couple of folks a ride from the Larkspur and back again. Just give us a time and we will be sure to arrive early at the Larkspur.

Greg and Cindie

George and Carolyn from Kerri On will be at the show. I'll have my F150 so can take 3 plus us. Looking forward to the event. See you all there, George

We are going to spend the month of February in a friend's condo in Palm Desert. The SBS dates are pretty darn close to our travel dates, so I think we probably will not be able to make it but never say never...

Would it still be a pot luck kinda thing? And could I still bring homebrew; maybe if I pay a corkage fee?
Evidently my reading comprehension skills are lacking. After reading again what Pat posted, I see that it'll be off the menu or buffet.

And I agree with Pat in having the pub cater a buffet style meal. In my experience it's always a better value.

Great idea Pat! I would personally love to play for the event. I still haven't checked with the band members but I'm sure we can work something out. I'll let you know.

It would be for Friday, January 28th, right?

Great idea! Bringing homebrew to the taproom is like bringing Coal to Newcastle though....

If I can talk Sally into flying this year, we'll be there. Thataway/Thisaway will be in the PNW sometime around them, maybe we can make this a BIG Reunion! Someone will have to go bring Dusty down, maybe Les will do it!

Yes Pat this sounds like a good Idea and there is some good feedback here. I say to go for it .
on another note. I was thinking that we need to do a swap meet on Saturday night along with the potluck.
I am gonna try to get Jeremiah to make a brew to bring down also.
