01/27 - 01/29 - Seattle boat show and C-Brat Gathering

Boy if there was ever an argument about how good this site is, Mike and Bill's generosity settles it.
I have agreed, at Pat's request, to "coordinate" the bus transportation. The date for the pub run is Friday, January 27th. Pat tells me we have 24 people signed up already. One question is when would we depart from the Larkspur Landing hotel. It is 30 miles to the pub and Pat has suggested a 4 or 5 pm departure. I'd appreciate some feedback so we can leave at a time most are happy with, understanding that we will not be able to please everybody. So, please weigh in with your preference.

Thanks.

Any time works for me, since I'm not doing anything else but visiting with other C-Brats at the hotel, which is probably true of a lot of us.

However, if a significant number of folks can't get there until 4:30 or 5, then the later times would be fine, too.

I wonder how many are coming to the event, want to ride the bus, leave from the hotel, and won't be there by 4 pm?

These are the folks we need to hear from, I'd think!

Joe. :teeth :thup

There will be a separate sign up for the bus from the signup for the buffet! The ONLY way to get signed up for the buffet is to PM me with your name and how many are coming. As of right now, the count is at 30! And Joe - I do not have a PM from you, should I put you down for 1?

OK, time to firm things up. How about this for the schedule?

Bus departs Larkspur Landing at 5:00 p.m. Friday, January 27, 2012.

Bus arrives Snoqualmie Brewery & Taproom ~5:30 - 5:45 p.m.

Buffet starts at ~6 p.m. (time for those who work and will be driving to get to Snoqualmie).

Peter Jamero Experience (trust me folks, this is worth the trip) starts about 7 p.m. You will be amazed by your friend Peter's music! We will have a donation jar for the band members, Peter's people are professional musicians and need to be paid something! Thanks!

Bus departs Snoqualmie Brewery & Taproom for Larkspur Landing at ~9:30 p.m.

Bus arrives Larkspur Landing ~10:00 - 10:15 p.m.

DIRECTIONS: The Snoqualmie Brewery & Taproom is at 8032 Falls Ave. S.E., Snoqualmie, WA. Just get to historic downtown Snoqualmie, find the historic Depot at Railroad and King Streets, go one block east (toward the river), and you will be at the Taproom, you cannot possibly miss it.

Easiest way to get to downtown Snoqualmie is I-90 EB to Exit 25, follow signs at exit for Snoqualmie Parkway (goes north under the freeway, if you go south you will be on SR 18 headed for Auburn, wrong way!), about 3 miles on Parkway to T intersection at SR 202 (aka Railroad Ave), go right on SR 202, you will come in to historic downtown Snoqualmie, the Depot will be on your right, turn left on King Street. Lots of street parking or in the big parking lot at Railroad and King.

PLEASE sign up for the buffet if you have not done so and would like to. You are still welcome to come whether you sign up for the buffet or not of course!

I don't know where the "sign up" is for the bus, but please include me. Perhaps we could rent the Hummingbird Pub Bus and all wear Hippie Attire.....

Barry, I'm happy with a departure at "any time" because, since I retired  , time is not something I pay much attention to... ...additionally, the sooner we get to the brewery, the sooner we can suck down the fine brewskys.... :beer :beer :beer

Seriously Barry, what ever works best, just name a time and I'm sure there will be passengers.

Aren't our poobahs great! Thanks Bill and Tyboo for your generous contribution. :thup

The bus event signup sheet is not there yet. Expect it in the next day or two. This looking to be one of the premier events of the season and all the better because we get to spend time with friends gossiping on the bus after some judicious application of Pat and David's famous Black Frog libation.

Thanks Pat. Well, I just confirmed with all the band members and we're ALL IN!! It sounds like it will be lots of fun and they're looking forward to it. We really enjoy playing together and we think the brats will like our brand of music. That's why the band agreed to play. Money is not the only thing, but would be nice to round up a little something for the boys. I'm happy to donate my time.

BTW, the band name is Peter Jamero Project. We didn't want to steal any of Jimmy Hendrix's thunder. :wink

There is a separate signup list now in place specifically for the bus ride. I listed the departure time as 5:00pm in the event description, so let me know if this is changed or if other information is needed in the signup notes.

As Mike (Tyboo) just posted we now have a signup sheet for the bus ride to Pat and David's Snoqualmie brewery. Please, if you want to ride the bus, sign up soon, even if you have already PM'd me, go ahead and signup. The signup sheet is for planning with the bus company and I will assume, unless you tell me differently, that each signup is for two people. Buses may be in fairly short supply during the boat show so it's probably a prudent idea to get ours locked in asap.

Thanks.

Question for Roger, Sensei: Is there a potluck on Saturday night in addition to the pub trip Friday?

Thanks.

I believe I stated in a post on page 2, " Yes Pat this sounds like a good Idea and there is some good feedback here. I say to go for it .
on another note. I was thinking that we need to do a swap meet on Saturday night along with the potluck.
I am gonna try to get Jeremiah to make a brew to bring down also.
"
so Yes, there will be a potluck on Sat. night. we usually do it on Friday night but things do change !

The bus sign up doesn't indicate how many folks per sign up. That being said, Carol hopes to get off work earlier enough to join me on bus trip.

We are at about 35 for the brewery wingding right now, I assume there will be some signing up later, but it would be great if you know you are coming to PM me so I can put you on the list! Thanks!

OK, a bus update. Right now we have ( I think) 38 riders on the bus. The best quote I have thus far, measuring bus quality etc., is $707.00 including a fuel surcharge and all taxes but not a driver's tip. This is a 6 hour rental and would give us time to get back to the hotel without rushing. This quote is for a bus that can carry more passengers should more people want to ride. With the $500 generosity of Mike and Bill that leaves $207 to be divided up among the 38 of us (about $5.50) per person. Tipping the driver is apparently the norm and for a trip like ours seems to be in the $50-75 range. We can either handle that individually as we get off the bus or agree to say $7.00 per person instead of $5.50 and I'll just give it to the driver all at once. Round trip mileage is about 61 miles and figuring 15 MPG that would be about 4 gallons of gas if we drove ourselves. Figuring $3.50/gallon that comes to $14. So the cost is a wash between driving and riding the bus. Please tell me if this sounds OK. I don't expect every person signed up to reply (fat chance of that! ) and so will go ahead and take this quote if most of the replies are in favor. Please reply soon as I don't want to lose out on bus availability.

Hi Barry,

Count our two votes for including the tip in with the total. To be supportive, I put something in the tip jar, too... our hosts here are the best.

I've ridden with some of these C-Dory folks on a bus (the Hummingbird Pub hippie bus at Montague Harbor)... that was one of the highlights of the evening. I would expect this to be equally fun.

We're looking forward to it. Thanks for handling this.

Best wishes,
Jim & Joan
