01/29 - 01/31 - 2010 Seattle Boat Show/C-Brat Convention

Dahkota, if you want to see a TC255, c'mon down to our place on the river here in the Northern Neck of VA. We'll be out of town beginning next Saturday until about the middle of Nov but the boat is on a lift and I'd be glad to take you out after we get back. We're only a couple of hours from Bowie. We will be headig to SBS10 also.

Charlie

hello charlie,
i'm assuming that offers is extended to all c-brats, as well as the keys in the ignition and cold beer in the frig. please make sure before you leave that gas tanks are full. we'll try to keep the boat clean, but should byrdman join in the celebration of using your boat, all beats are off. one last request is that you check to make sure your boat insurance is up to date and if we need to post a claim you have phone numbers available for same.
you are the man!
best regards and tanking you in advance,
i remain your most humble c-brat friend
pat

Wow Pat, that one pegged my meter!

In view of your long standing support and interest, I have awarded you the consolation prize. These

have been shipped express to you and Linda. Please pick them up at the airport at 1600 (that's 4PM your time) today. PetAirlines flight 12478932A

It's a one way ticket. Please have plenty of cat chow and litter boxes ready!

Charlie

Thank you for all the replies and information.
Captain Charlie, we will definitely take you up on that offer! I missed the chance to meet you at the Bay gathering. Hope you are feeling well.

Our choices in catamarans right now seem to be the TomCat, the GB 2690, or the ArrowCat. The advantage of the first two is that they are trailerable. The third has more room but not sure the lack mobility is worth it.

I am so looking forward to Seattle! Just wish we could bring our boat and stay a while...

This one is on the books for January 29-31. The signup list is there.

Thanks, Roger and Lisbeth, for taking care of us again!

just bringing this post to the top. looking forward to this

here is the email I recieved from Linda concerning the CB/SBS gathering

Hi Roger, here's the scoop: The prices will remain the same as last year at the Larkspur Landing, Renton. $79.00/night for a Studio Queen Suite and $99.00/night for an Executive King 1 bedroom Suite. Tax is 12.4%. I have blocked out 20 rooms in both categories, January 29-31st for our group. Additional days can be added at the group rate. However, on January 8th, any uncommitted rooms will be released to the public so get your reservations in early to guarantee your space. The meeting room will again be available to us Friday at 4PM through Sunday 4PM without charge.
Please make all reservations through my office directly-not the hotel, to avoid confusion. A booking fee of $10.00 per room should be mailed to Stanwood Traveldesk.

I look forward to seeing many familiar faces, and hopefully some new ones, again. Thanks for your business these past several years!

Most sincerely,

so the powers that be can make a sign up page and announcement

thanks

Just bringing this to the top again. We need to decide if we are going on the Argosy or what!!! Personally I like the idea of the Argosy cruise on Saturday (so people who work can make it) and have the potluck, etc. on Friday night.

Warren

Regarding the Argosy Cruise I would like to weigh in with my 2 cents worth of recent experience. Dotty and I recently won two tickets on an Argosy buffet cruise sponsored by a local radio station. Now here's where it gets a little confusing. It was a 2 hour harbor cruise. The facilities were great and the buffet was really great (and I know my buffets). Here's the downside. Although we had free tickets, I think it was a little pricey. More importantly, with all the good food and good talk there was really no enjoying the cruise itself, which would probably mean a lot to the out-of- towners. Perhaps a better arrangement would be to take the Argosy locks cruise and eat on the waterfront near the Argosy landing at Ivars or the CrabPot either before or after the cruise. Just a suggestion from the peanut gallery.

Good points. I would just like to add that the downside of a dinner is that you only get to talk to your immediate neighbors. Not sure what the solution is, though. Maybe a buffet close to the hotel?

Roger, can you find out if there are any buffet restaurants near the hotel so we know if that can be a possible venue for Friday night?

Thanks!
Warren

Warren
Friday night is the pot luck at the motel. that is all I am going to be responsible for. if someone wants to organize something for Sat Night they are more than welcome to take it on.
If ya'll want to change thing up and do something different on Friday ,as far as I am concerned I will be in the gathering room friday night with my pot of something.....lol....

Sorry, Roger, didn't mean to get you riled up! :sad I meant Saturday night.

Hey for Saturday night, there is a place 1 mile from the Larkspur called Jimmy Mack's Roadhouse. I can contact them if there is any interest here in my doing so. I am fine with the Argosy and/or Crab Pot, too.

Warren

Yeah, Friday night I will be there at the Larkspur eating whatever is in Roger's pot and he'll be drinking my keg of beer! My Saturday night ideas all fizzled, so if somebody else wants to run that gig, go for it. There should be something Saturday night, I am not real keen on restaurants or cruise, a party that we could invite the Lindhouts and Scott to, even if they could only put in a short appearance, would be the best deal, but I am coming up empty on how to make that happen.

Those of us who will be working the show will gladly accept whatever left overs that can come our way.....

And remember, Matt prefers Diet Coke....

Whatever you guys do, I think you'll have more fun than we will at the show!

C-Cakes crew is up for an argosy cruise. We think it would be fun.

This year is going to be, I think, trial and error and we will learn from it what to do next year. So, we are really in favor of not getting too tense about any particular event, just do some simple things and maybe next year, with this year under our collective brat belts  we will find new things to do.
