05/18 - 05/19 - Friday Harbor Gathering

What Fun! We are so enjoying seeing everyone. The rain comes and goes, but that is PNW weather. The people are so enthusiastic about being out cruising. Thanks Patti and Barry and all for the great gathering so far. Pot luck tonight. Friday Harbor is an outstanding place. George and Carolyn

I think we passed you yesterday around 1400; we were s bound on I-5.

Sheesh...at 1400 I probably couldn't see in you the downpour around Rochester. Was down to 40 mph.

I'm pretty sure you're going the wrong way to get to Friday Habor but who am to guess your route.

Sure is nice weather at 1600...

Safe travels where you are headed.

Everyone seems to be having fun...

Wish we were there with everyone but not to be this time around. Hope our afternoon rains passed you over as the sky opened up here in Victoria around two and could not see across the street. Have some fun and remember, eat dessert first. Be safe on your journeys home.

Am so disappointed in not being able to make the gathering. As much work as went into the boat these past 6 weeks, I was hoping to make the journey. As it would turn out, the boat was simply not ready for a family overnight as I still do not have my stove/heater problem resolved and may need to replug the transponder holes before we leave it in the water for overnight.

Hope some photos get posted soon so I can know what to look forward to next year.

Patti counted 49 boats and four brats without boats. Whew! What fun. All went well. Jim again provided great entertainment, Ryan and Mark from the factory plus John from Waypoint marine gave us the first solid factory representation in a while (and they gave away neat stuff including two gifts of $500 in labor at Waypoint) Sam Landsman told us all the news about Fine Edge publishing and gave away some neat Dreamspeaker guides. The potluck was great, really good food, plenty of it. We filled Downriggers to the brim. The rain stayed mainly away from us. We had a great time, thanks everybody for coming.

What a great day yesterday! Very nice catching up with everyone and meeting new faces...

Thanks all,

John & Teddi (Amy says hi from Arizona)

Our thanks to Patty and Barry for making this happen, and to all the C-Brats in attendance for the fun and friendship!

Best wishes,
Jim & Joan

What a fabulous "gathering". Craig and I both want to thank everyone for your help and friendship. What a great bunch of folks. Barry and Patty put on a great shindig. Kudos! We had so much fun. Jim and Joan were gracious to be our dinner mates and we thoroughly enjoyed your company! Is there an event sign-up yet for next year.....count us in! PS Annie Tess and say thanks too.....well how about a WOOF!

Many thanks to everyone for making us feel so welcome at the gathering - definitely exceeded our expectations. We are amazed at how wonderful you guys are!!! We had heard it was like a "family reunion" and would have to agree. We learned so much and now have our mission...to find a CD 25 preferably with a shower and A/C...necessities in Texas!

Our goal is to go to the Lake Powell gathering in 2014 and Friday Harbor in 2015 with our C-Dory!. We may come boatless again to Friday Harbor in 2014 as we do not think we will have the confidence to make the trek from Texas.

Extra thanks go to:

Jim and Joan for spending so much time with us and frankly sharing your experiences. What you are doing is exactly our dream!!!

Harvey - We really appreciate you taking us out on your boat and your patience. We would have never dreamed someone would have allowed newbies like us to drive their boat through cattle pass. We will never forget your friendliness and hospitality.

David and Kate - Thank you so much for letting us ride on a CD 25. This "sealed the deal" on a CD 25.

Our Friday night dinner table - Ruth & Joe, Roger & Janet, Jamie & Denise - We appreciate you welcoming us to your table and letting us participate in your conversations. We are even more excited about the adventures that are in front of us. We hope to continue to bond friendships with the C-Dory group that you guys so obviously have enjoyed.

Lyle & Janda - We loved your energy and excitement! Very much appreciate your sharing of the new experiences and continued adventures. We gained more confidence that "we can do this" from your adventures.

We look forward to being part of the C-Dory group in the future.

Martha and Mitch

Martha and Mitch,

You pretty well summed up what the C-Brat community is all about. Sharing our experiences and love of our boats with others that think they want to be one of us. So glad we could meet you and take you out on your "preferred" C-Dory. Didn't think to have you take the helm on our trip around Shaw Island.

David and Kate

Mitch, there are 3 C Dory 25's on the East Coast currently for sale. I would also give some very serious consideration to the C Dory Cape Cruiser/Ventura's for sale on the East Coast. Especially the 26 for sale by Marc Grove at Wefing's in East Point FL (stop by our house in Pensacola on the way). This 26 is exceptional in that it has a built in generator, roof RV type AC unit and a brand new Honda 150, as well as being well outfitted.

We have found that the roof air is much better in the South than one of the "marine units". You can run it with the boat on the trailer, and use as a camper in route.

We have criss crossed the US several times with both 22's and 25's Properly set up, the 25 or 26 is not more difficult to trailer than the 22. All you need is a good truck--and every Texan has a Texas Cadillac!

Doing Powell this year is very much in reach for you!

Thank you Barry and Patty for a wonderful gathering and ofcourse for christening our boat. We had a wonderful time and look forward to next year.

Hats Off..... Barry / Patty the gathering was great, thank you for your time and effort to make the event pleasant. And thank you to all who were behind the scene to assist. Carole and I enjoyed everyone and are looking forward to more of the same.

Wow, what a spectacular CBGT! Old friends and new! Our run back to Bellingham from Friday Harbor was a piece of cake, even Bellingham Bay as a pussycat this afternoon. Daydream is now safely stored in Concrete, WA, at Garry and Vicki's "cabin" - if that is a cabin, we live in a mud hut - and Patty and I are back in our fifth wheel in Preston. Our relator tells us we will be getting an offer on our house tomorrow, keeping our fingers crossed! Looking forward to the next one/ones!

Thanks and Kudos to Barry and Patty for another outstanding gathering! Kim and I had a blast talking with new and old friends. Can't wait for next year! Love the Friday Harbor CBGT!
