05/20 - 05/22 - 2016 Friday Harbor CBGT

Is anybody who will be at Friday Harbor a pastor? It's Joyce and my 35th anniversary. I'm thinking I might surprise her with a little renewal of our vows ceremony if the other brats will indulge me. What thinks you guys?

Roger Can i do it. I found a online site that will allow me??????? of course given I have to look after my new found flock and their best interest I may have to to advice her against it.

Hey Greg, Would it be possible to add Hiromi and Mike aboard Off Leash to the dinner on Friday if there is any room left?
It is our first time and we are really excited about meeting everyone who has given all of us newbies so much great advice on the blog
Thanks,

Mike and Hiromi.

Rev Pat will be happy to do boat chistenings at FH! Greg, will you have a list of boats needing christening? Roger, I am not really a Rev but congrats on 35 years!

Thanks Pat,

I plan to bring the appropriate supplies for you along with a list of participating boats. It has be quiet on that front so far but only because we have not advertised it yet.

I will be sending my update to the port next week and plan to post the full gathering details next week as well.

Greg

HI Greg,

Just wondering if we are going to have the Voluntary Vessel Inspection available again this year like last year. (I believe there was a coupon for a free night at Friday Harbor for another date, included with the inspection.) I didn't know that was happening so I got mine done before I left for the islands last year.

Yes Harvey, we are working with a local contact and waiting on confirmation of dates and times. I should have that answer when I post full event details next week.

Don't know if I done this right, but Greg could you add Lori & Al (LORI-L) to the Friday Harbor dinner Friday night if it is not too late. If it is, no problem..

I will add you both to the dinner list. Also, if you are coming by boat, please signup for the Friday Harbor gathering near the top of the page by clicking Event Signups. Then choose the gathering you want and click the View Information button which will show you the list of current attendees. Then you click the Join Group button near the top to join that group.

See you there,

Greg

Thanks Greg for getting us on the list and I had already signed up. Will be coming in with our boat from Anacortes. Also any of the folks from out of town that needs local info or breaks something, you can email me and I will see if I can help them out. (aln_lori@yahoo.com

Great mods Sea-C. I can't wait to see them in person at the Friday Harbor gathering. Don't forget to sign up for the boat christening ceremonies.

First C-Brat gathering for Lori and I so should be interesting. Friday Harbor works great for us with maybe a little shrimping to boot.. Hope for good weather..

Daydream is ready! The gas in the tank has been de-watered! The cockpit floor is back down and caulked! The solar panels are up and running with the controller relocated so we can use the head for showers! The fan on the Airhead has been rewired and is running 24/7! The ARB freezer is in place! Just need to get 50 or so more gallons of ethanol free gas in the tank, water in the water tank, provision, and we are ready to launch! We are launching at Blaine on Sunday, May 14th, cruising until the FH gathering, and probably for a few days after! So ready for this season to get underway!

This is a discussion in another thread, but I think it belongs here too as a group MMSI number would be really handy for those of us going to Friday Harbour.

It would allow us to meet other C-Brats along the way and it would be useful for post CBGT

As this is the first CBGT of the year and also the biggest it would be a good time to agree on a Group MMSI number and start using it.

You can see the previous discussion at http://www.c-brats.com/viewtopic.php?t=24129

Hello Brats!

Ari is looking forward to hosting another Friday Harbor gathering and have enough of the details on hand to share them with the group. We are launching Wednesday at Cornet Bay and will be at Jones the first night, then on to Friday Harbor on Thursday.

When you arrive at the Port of Friday Harbor Marina, there is no need to call in for a slip assignment with the port. They reserve the inside of H dock and part of G dock for our group. Look for the other C-Brats to dock next to and we will be monitoring VHF 68 if you have any questions as you come in. You can take any open slip on the inside of H or the shore-end of G dock. Usually a bunch of us are there Friday and will help you get moored. Once you are settled at the dock, make note of your slip # and please walk up to the office to get checked in for the weekend.

Saturday morning, starting at 7 a.m., we will have coffee, tea, hot cocoa and baked goods available on the dock.

We are trying to arrange for Saturday morning Coast Guard safety checks for anyone interested.

New for this year, we will have a contest for the best decorated boat and other categories that the C-Brat kids will vote on at 4:30 Saturday. Winners will be announced at the potluck. Come prepared to have some fun with this event!

We will have the potluck at 5:30 Saturday at the end of H dock. No sign-up necessary, just bring an item to share. Plates and utensils provided. Bring your own drink.

Boat christenings will be Saturday evening immediately following the potluck. Be sure to bring some greenery and let us know the boat name and your family's names via PM. Pat Anderson will be performing the christenings again this year.

Don't forget to bring your nametags! We will have blank tags available if anyone needs one when they arrive.
