07/16 - 07/18 - Blakely Island

Holy cats! Did I read that correctly, or is it residual salt in my system after last weekend's killer mini C-Pod cruise with Halcyon and Co.?

Dave said he's coming to Blakely from New Hampshire? Where is that, anyway? I gotta meet you, Dave. Very glad you're coming. And Pat and Rick from southern Idaho, like Jim said, we'll fit you in somewhere, don't worry. Do call Norma at Blakely, however.

Please let me introduce me and my wife since we've been invited to the Blakley Island cruise. I'm Dale and my wife is Rosemary. We've been invited by Ken, (Blue-C). We hope you all won't mind us tagging along since we don't have a C-Dory. We have a 22 foot home built that in fact looks a lot like a C-Dory. We have been given a slip, it's A-9. We live in Longview, Wa. and so far have only boated on the Columbia river. We're looking forward to meeting you and hope we can join the fun. Our boat is called Knot Yacht. Dale Bailey

Welcome aboard Dale and Rosemary! (Just because you know Ken....we won't hold that against you...tee hee :wink ). Unfortunately, I will not be at this Blakely Gathering, but I'm certain that you'll both be welcomed and have a great time with a group of very special people!
Since, I'm unable to join in on this gathering, make sure that you get some pictures posted of your fine vessel.

Welcome Knot Yacht Dale & Rosemary.

Looking forward to meeting you at Blakely. This will be my first time cruising the San Juans. See you there!

Sad to hear you can't make the trip DaveS. How is the new motor yacht treating you?

Knot Yacht joins the frey, welcome.....Dale kept peppering me with C-Dory questions, I think he really wanted one, but, being a boat builder he couldn't force himself to actually buy a complete boat. He's built a pretty dang nice craft. Brock assured me that you guys wouldn't throw rocks at his boat if he went to Blakely, that, plus the fact that all the rocks on Blakely are privately owned...ya should come out of there unscathed Dale.

Larry, looking forward to talking fishing with ya, we have to do some plotting for the coming months

Welcome Knot Yacht,
`Gosh and we thought we were coming the farthest. BTW guys is this an organized outing? Is there a program? Are we supposed to bring anything?
We'll probably be arriving Thursday night, the 15th, and be in Slip C-5. I hope there's a lot of beer. Pat really likes beer.
:beer

Organized? speaking of organization.....Brock, will folks be wearing the blue, or, the off white blazers for the Saturday potluck?

Ken, I'm glad you asked. Didn't you people receive the programs I mailed? Alright, let me go over this one more time. Attendees are expected to don the traditional blue blazers and white slacks. Black shoes should be polished, hair slicked, nails clean and shorts fresh. Only then do our Beer Guys dispense their private suds. (They're traditionalists.)

By the way, I thought this year it might be fun to wear our tuxedos for our Saturday evening dinner/dance.

And we are told we are in C-7...anybody else in C-7? Speak now or forever hold your peace...And I snore like crazy!! Git thee to NAPA Auto Parts and get ear plugs if you have a problem with that!

Thanks, Mike, that's informative. I'm in C-6, and I just want to tell my neighbors that I don't snore. But I do eat a whole bunch of garlic.

OK, I am SURE Asst Rev. Bro. Jim will do just fine!

Jim, if you are referring to me in the above reference, I'm sorry to say that we will not be able to join in at Blakely due to previous plans made last November :sad .............so any "Christenings" will be up to you "Rev. Brother Jim".

Larry - can that really be true? Holy cow! You are going to enjoy this! And Oscar will be on OUR boat this time, David will NOT use your marine head, and I will NOT be trying to pour coffee out of your thermos!!!! (For you Sherlock Holmes fans, can you deduce a thing or two here??)

No I didn't try to flush Oscar. He wasn't on the boat at the time. Probably would have flushed just fine.

As for the beer. Pat is bringing a pony of something. And I am bringing a pony of something. Now won't that be something? I have a feeling that this is not going to be enough, so we may bring along a couple of mixed cases of something. This all depends on the mood of our head-brewer (not a nautical term so don't go there) we are a little short in the big cooler right now due to increased demand on our products.

TUXEDOS ???I don't think so. We're coming, "come as you are". But we do like to dance. Where in the hell are we going to dance?? (am I allowed to say Hell?)
