That would be our wonderful Haystack Hefeweizen. Read about it here. Consider it done!

Having just read about the Haystack Hefeweizen and the other fine brews your brewery offers, I now have discovered why I've always enjoyed the Wildcat IPA....(something to do with 6.6% perhaps... )

Needless to say, I've never consumed any of your brews that I didn't enjoy immensely.

A bit of an update on the B'Ham CBGT. Motel info for those arriving boatless. Apparently 'our' weekend is also the beginning of a bicycle run out of Seattle (?Bike RSCT?) and the Lynden County Fair is a big event that's happening at the same time.

MOTEL 6 is totally booked for Friday August 14th. Motel 6 is located near an IHOP, Stewart Andersons & McDonalds. Less than 5 miles to the marina. The phone number is 360-671-4494 or www.motel6.com

The TRAVEL HOUSE INN is located than than 3 miles from the marina. Also near the Bellis Fair Mall. It appears that they have rooms available. Reasonable rates, too. No website but their phone number is 360-671-4600.

Right next to the Travel House Inn is Eleni's Restaurant and another motel. RODEWAY INN. I didn't call them to see how booked they are but their phone number is 360-738-6000 or 1-800-476-5413.

If you call for reservations be sure to ask if the motel offers a discount if you're an AAA member.

Oh, yes...the HOTEL BELLWETHER located within walking distance of the marina. Website www.hotelbellwether.com

Just a couple of weeks away from the 3rd B'Ham CBGT so thought I'd do a bit of an update.

Checked in with Paul Knipple at the Port of Bellingham. Reservations are in place for P Dock for Friday August 15 @ 1pm until Sunday August 17 @ 1pm. For the newcomers who are arriving by water use the East entrance...you'll see R-Matey at P Dock.

On foot use Gate 9 (north of the launch ramp) to get to P Dock. I'll pmail the gate and restroom codes to everyone who has signed up. Yes, we'll be staying in a gated community

P Dock is just one big long slip (570'). Depending on how many boats actually show up, there's a good possibility that some boats might have to raft up....so please be prepared with extra fenders. If rafting up is something you'd prefer not to do, there might be a slip somewhere available in the marina. Contact the Port Office to see if one of the absent marina tenants have their slip available for rental. Phone number is 360-676-2542.

Dinner Friday night is whatever you choose to do. Some prefer to just eat onboard. If a restaurant is of your choosing, there's 3 nice ones within walking distance of P Dock. Reservations should be considered as all of these restaurants fill up quickly on a Friday evening.

(1) Anthony's 360-647-5588
(2) Hearthfire 360-527-3473
(3) Bayside 360-715-0975 (most reasonable)

Saturday is a 'Do Whatever You Want To Do Day" so you might want to visit the Pacific Marine Exchange.

Mike Kimmich, the owner of Pacific Marine Exchange, has most graciously offered the C-Dory folks 10% off coupons for any purchases made in his store. See Ruth for the coupons.

For those who haven't been to Pacific Marine, be prepared to spend some time there and don't forget to go downstairs. Mike will also take take your marine 'stuff' that you'd like to sell and place it on consignment. He just sold the last of the four items we'd taken to him. And... if you spend your consignment check at Pacific Marine, Mike will give you an additonal 10% of the check towards your next purchase.

Bellingham has a Saturday Farmer's Market. Probably about a one mile walk (more or less) from the marina.

Then there's Fairhaven. A most unique and interesting artsy part of Bellingham. Try the Colophon Cafe for a good meal. 360-647-0092. Also, there's a wonderful bookstore located in the same building as the Colophon Cafe.

The Port of Bellingham offers a shuttle but you do have to walk over to the Port of Bellingham office located @ 722 Coho Way. Off course, we'll have our van available, too, if someone needs to gets groceries, etc.

Saturday night is the potluck. Lee Kincaid will be getting the key for us so that we can use the Squalicum Yacht Club that evening. Also, Lee's 2007 25CD is FOR SALE. It can be seen just around the corner from P Dock (Use Gate 9). As posted in his ad the phone number to contact him is 360-671-2612.

Mitch at the Bayside Cafe has set aside our usual spot for Sunday morning breakfast beginning @ 8 am. I told him that there'd probably be about 50 of us.

Rosborough and Ranger Tug owners are most welcome to join us. Once a Brat, always a Brat!

See you soon!

Ruth & Joe,

Many thanks for the invite but can't quite make it this year. We are hoping to meet up with some of our fellow Brats afterwards as we will be in the same general area as the "Gulf Cruisers" from Sunday onwards.

As you say, C-Brat is a way of life...... and we hope to C'Yall up in the Islands.

For those that haven't already had their boats checked, I will be doing Coast Guard Auxiliary Vessel Safety Checks at the Bellingham gathering. I expect David McKibben (Anna Leigh) will also be available to do checks. Checks are free and a good way to keep your vessel up to snuff safety-wise.

Ruth & Joe et al,

Sorry but Caryn and I are going to have to miss this one. We have family commitments that weekend. Hope y'all have a great time. I'm certain Ruth and Joe will have things well-organized and set-up for lots of fun as usual.

We will try to make the Sequim gathering in September.

Ruth and Joe, As you know Cordell and I will be in California for the
Monterey Historics I think this will be Cordell's last year, after nearly 30 years of "racing"! And he thinks that I am boat crazy
I will be there as crew chief, holding down a folding chair and watching cars and people.

I will really miss the C-Brat gathering, as they mean a great deal to me. But, I have to admit, I love the whole Monterey thing.

DaNag, This may be your last chance to meet us at the races. Would love to have any car nuts come by and say hi. We are at the track Thursday through Sunday. You might even finagle a car ride!

Robbi

Robbi,

Oh for the good old days! In an old lifetime we lived on the corner of Sloat and Lopez in the 17 mi. drive loop. Had hay bales in front of the yard, and we could sit and watch 'em whiz by.

:love

Recently, I sent a PM to Joe and Ruth, to be sure that they had the C-Brat Banner for this gathering. They replied back and said yes that they have it and also said....."sorry you won't be able to make the gathering this year"........So, I'm thinking to myself, "self, what do you mean you are not going to the B'Ham Gathering?" I quickly looked up at the sign up list and I wasn't on it. I'd forgotten to sign in.....NOW I"M ON THE LIST!....see you all there. Carol and I will be in attendance, and we are planning on the Canada cruise afterwards.

Thanks Joe and Ruth for calling this to my attention.

Robbi, what kind of vehicle? Any pix?

My daughter, Tory, and I will be coming from a week in Canada. I am disappointed we are not all gathering in the same place for dinner on Friday. We may arrive on Saturday for that reason.

Just can't get in enough time for the boat. Will miss you all. Will also be thinking of you and hoping that we will get some to swing by the Sequim Bay CGBT Sept 12-14. We are predicting good weather.
