Hi again everyone,
Thanks for all the feedback and PMs about my 16. In the end, we decided not to change our motor, since we've been thinking about a 19 next year anyway.
As an aside, I listed my 40 Honda on Craig's List at $4200, and had several full-price buyers in under 24 hours!
I found a 19 down in SoCal, which I know has been mentioned here before (in Laguna Niguel, 2004 19 angler, owner named Ali). I'm in process to buy this boat, and at least in photos, it looks like a nice find. Purchase price will be $22,500 with 100 hours on everything and a just-completed 100-hour service.
Here's the Craig's List ad:

Have any of you seen this boat already? If so, I'd love to hear your thoughts on it. As I said, in pictures it presents really well, but there's nothing like being there in person. Anyone live nearby who could pop over and have a quick look for me?
If all proceeds as planned, I'll be flying down on Saturday, meeting my dad with his truck, and driving back up to Seattle.
I have to laugh a bit, because I bought my 16 in Sacramento, and towed it up to Seattle also. Maybe I should found the "Western Washington C-Dory Rescue" or something. Our motto could be, "Saving C-Dory's From California, One Boat At A Time."
(I did live in SF for six years, so I'm allowed to harass Californians...)
In keeping with our previous name (Natural Blue), we are looking for a new name related to the character "Dory" from Finding Nemo. So far my first choice is "P. Sherman". All ideas welcome (even those not related to kids' movies), and a really good beer to you if I pick your suggestion. Since the boat is grey, Natural Blue doesn't really fit, even though you all provided me with the means to carry the name forward! Grey Skies? Moody Greys? Hmmm...
Take care and talk soon,
bmc
