Currently, C-Cakes, Discovery and Dreamer are in the Broughtons. We're waiting on Lori-Ann and Kingfisher II, which is experiencing engine problems at Powell River.

C-Cakes and Discovery are anchoring in Waddington Bay tonight, making their way to pierre's for the weekend Pig Roast. We're anchored in the back cove of Double Bay on Hanson Island. Tomorrow, a stop in Port McNeill to pick up guests for the weekend.

George Hone aboard Kerrie-On will join us all on the 3rd of July.

Limit of big Dungy Crabs this AM, Yum!

Roger,

Thanks for the update, and reason to keep going here, maybe next year. have a great time and "Howdy" to all the Broughton Brats.

:love DREAMER..... Happy 45th anniversary Roger and Janet!!!! :love

At least, as Tanya remembers from a past note you wrote, that today is your 45th anniversary!

I hope she is correct that its today. Heck, I cannot even remember mine what's less yours.

Enjoy the day, each other, and the rest of the cruise.

Take care and be safe,
Dan & Tanya

We were in the Broughtons on our way north to Alaska. We stayed at Port Harvey Marina in the Havana Channel and at Shawl Bay Marina which is north of Echo Bay. Shawl Bay has a free pancake breakfast every morning at 8:00 and a bring your own Happy hour at 5:00.

We are now in Hartley Bay about 75 miles south of Prince Rupert.
We should be in Ketchikan in 3 days or so.

Please keep all the updates & tips coming. We're heading up there in September and all this info will help!

Glad to hear you are all having such a wonderufl time.

C-Brats

There are four boats now at Echo Bay Marina. Discovery, Dreamer, and Lori Ann all TomCat 255's and C-cakes a 22 Cruiser. We are here for two nights, tomorrow is the first pig roast of the season. Then we all set out to Jennis Bay for Cajun Night on the 28th.

The weather has been good for the most part. A few showers now and then, but the wind speed has been low and the waters calm. I have fished some and caught a few Rockfish. We have had good prawning, a lot of them are 10 to the pound size. Dreamer has done well crabbing and prawning. No salmon yet but maybe tomorrow. The Chinook are running off of Echo Bay.

This country is beautiful and there are lots of neat things to see. There seems to be fewer boaters up here now--maybe due to early in the season or the price of fuel. The big boats still run, but the boats the size of ours are few and far between.

Thanks Dan,

Actually it's tomorrow, the 25th. But after 45 years, who's counting? We are sad to hear Grumpy's engine problem can't be solved until August! Essentially ending a summers cruising plans. We will miss them so much on this trip.

A visit to Billy Procter is in the plans for tomorrow and lots of pork and vino tomorrow evening. Nice to see 3 TC-255s out cruising the area.

Flew home yesterday and picked up truck and trailer so we can haul the boat back to EQ and avoid the local pirate who is busy for the next 3 weeks and whose only suggestion so far is to spend another $300 plus labour to maybe fix the problem.
Warrenty does not exist in the Canadian Honda dictionary. It translates to "don't want to "

Cost about a boat unit so far.

Sorry to miss you all. Save us some shrimp and pig.

Big happy 45th to Janet & Roger. We will just have to eat the caviar and champagne we brought for you for breakfast today.

Happy anniversary :cocktail
Monday is our 30th. We have a long way to go to catch up with you two.
Wish we were up in the Broughtons with you. I sure enjoy those prawns. Maybe next year?

Janet congrats and keeping this long, most would have caught and released him I think.

Merv sorry to here you are having to trailer home. I dont understand why the honda dealer will not warranty the motor? Its made in japan, sold around the world, should be warranted around the world. You should report him to honda and when you get your boat out of his yard tell him he cant have the stanly cup back either.

Memories, memories !!! A very Happy Anniversary, Janet and Roger. Wasn't it 3 years ago we celebrated your anniversary at Sullivan Bay in the Broughtons !!? Or was it 4 yrs.? Anyway, we remember having a great time and the creative dinner that Chris and staff put together because the chef and waitress had just been fired for having too much fun. We also remember Roger not allowing any of us to be docked near him that night. There's still fire in the ol'boy !!

We really enjoyed looking at the pictures of all of you having fun this year in places we have such fond memories of. We're so glad that our brats friends are all together up there. BUT we are awfully sorry that Merv and Kathy have had their cruising plans put at parade rest for the time being. We sure hope that Honda gets back in running order real quick.

Bob and Betsy p.s. The pig roast is great but Pierre's prime rib is absolutely NOT to be missed !

We had a wonderful celebration of Roger and Janet's anniversary tonight at the pig roast at Pierre's Echo Bay. Champagne and the works. What a great place to celebrate with equally great people. The sun was shining--the only thing missing was the whales!

Thanks everyone for the good wishes. The secret is having a great wife who shares your dreams.

On a little cruise today before the Pig Roast, we found Lacy Falls running at full tilt due to recent rains.

Pierre was in fine form, offering photo ops before he carved up the pig. Everyone enjoyed the feast (except the pig).
