Bunk Trailer

I have a King bunk trailer. it came with four boards and when we first put the boat on it we took two off and just used the two set out wide. I had a lot of trouble getting the Sensei loaded straight so we put the other two back on in the middle of the trailer leaving enough room for the center rib to slide between. The boat slides into position easily and I have had no problems loading on center since.

My trailer came with four boards. The front boards support the front of the boat, center it on the trailer and allow downward pressure when you really snug the bow against the roller. I think my trailer (magic-tilt) is a bit short as the stern hangs about 1 feet off the back bunks. When I get time I will try to move it forward.
It took a few times to make some adjustments to get the boat to sit and load like it should. More boards is more support surface area.

This forum is awsome. Thank you Roger and Chris , with both of your replies you have solved two of the problems I am having when loading the boat. First even with my side board guides the boat is a bit difficult to center, second the bow does not sit good on the front roller. I will be ordering two boards for the center, thank you again Roger & Chris. Gary
Just this morning I finally made a couple of the patented B~C Centering Shoes for my trailer, and they worked great. It's just a carpeted chunk of 2x4 with an angle bracket on the back that slides down over the side guides. After the boat is on the trailer, and still deep enough in the water to move sideways, put one of these deals on each side and they hold the boat snugly between them while you pull it out. Then you take 'em off, and the boat is centered and the side guides are not even touching it.
I'll see if I can find the old picture that Ken posted and edit a link to it in here. Ken might play the part of an undereducated educator educated beyond his intelligence, but he is mighty crafty and a fine craftsman. And his centering deals are a stroke of genius.
By the way - my King for the CD25 has four boards. My CD22 trailer had rollers, so it doesn't count in this discussion.

The things I made today don't look anything like the ones B~C has. Don't know what I was thinking. Here is a shot of his original design.
The ones I made are just small chunks of 2x2 about 8" long, and they fit lengthwise along the inside of the guide rails. All they do is fill up the space and force the boat to center, then hold it there while pulling it out of the water. Ken's look like they help guide it to center.

Seriously thinking of getting rid of my new EZLoader that I have never really been happy with. Checking out a Road Runner 4800, www.roadrunnerltd.com (not sure if it is available in the USA) and one configuration option is rollers in front and bunks at rear. Has anyone had experience with this combination?

Hi Dave , I look into bunk in the rear and rollers in front , but I got my trailer customize by Road Runner , 11' bunk, 102'' wide axle, 9' tongue 13'' tandem . I just love this trailer it is very well made. I got the regular light ,I had problems with my last trailer with led. And I have regular bearings I also had problem with the last trailer with oil bath oil! I don't believe that rollers in front would make a difference . But if you ever go that way let me know how it work .
