BYRDMAN, SENSEI & LES LAMPMAN AT IT AGAIN.....

wow... Awesome trip... Got lucky going over some passes tonight. We had to stop and wash our toga sheets!!

No pulled pork...but we have talked a bit about it. It goes like this. Wake up....GET IN THE TRUCK... Meals are for the most part FLYING J... Yes, we are tired of it now, but, we could see the weather changing rapidly against us and we had to get over the last two hills, or they call them passes.... in MT/ID/WA.

Tonight, Ritzville, WA....with warmer weather and no passes to Oak Harbor, WA for Friday and will sleep in just to rest a bit. No speeding (for long anyway)...just staying moving, and really not stopping except to refuel and a bit of walking about a bit.

We have both found it amazing what the pressure changes of the high altitude up.....and back down real quick does for our digestive systems. WOW... Let's just say it we be good to sleep alone in my bed tonight without the twins...... Life is good.... road food is not that friendly to ya.

Joe, our project has been sliping out now and then and we attempt not to say too much about it on this site. Still some C-Dory purist on the site that just loose their socks if any of us even act like another boat is built. Well, our project, Les Lampman and myself/Heartland/EQ is a continued extension of my personal boat, other than we are now starting with a blank canvas/interior on a RF-246 Sedan Cruiser.....and building our own interior as to allow for more storage to fit each owners needs where the head was in the V-Berth area, and, allows for a head/shower set up in the cabin. We think it will be nice. A pic of the layout is on my site, my246.com and Les has more on the boat in general on the usa246.com site. So... on we go!!! Les and I are both very long time members of the C-Brats...and will, as we have, attempt to keep our talk about the boats who got us here.....and even with the many changes that have taken place over the past .....well....since even before there was a C-Brat site. I think the two of us have established ourselves as true C-Brats...

Thanks for the kind words and safe travel wishes. They are working so far. See some of yall during my brief trip this round up in Stanwood and/or Oak Harbor.

Sounds like you've got a nice project going that will provide a valuable alternative to the C-Brat community.

I just knew you guys couldn't be traveling across the frozen northern countryside of the U.S. in the middle of winter just to sample the ice fishing across the USA!

Just got me to thinking and speculating, etc.

Will be looking forward to seeing you all in Seattle at the Boat Show and C-Brat Get Together!

Yeah, Ritzville to Oak Harbor - that has to take you over at least one "hill" or pass, as we call them, you see there is this little range we call the "Cascades," nothing like the Rockies but there will be snow if the weather guessers are right.

Patrick and Roger, you both have my cell, but I will PM it in case you lost it, please call if your route takes you over I-90, I guarantee the food is better at the Taproom than Flying J! I will be in Snoqualmie all day and free to break away to say hello!

FUN, Thanks for sharing your trip. Been watching from that big eye in the sky. Really neat system for family to use to follow a long, especially for out of the way, non-cellphone trips.

Looks like something stalled out in that big parking lot. Travel Safe the rest of the way.

yes our moving average was right close to 59 mph but it was raining and snowing over lookout pass and we averaged about 40 mph over that stretch and then was pouring rain over 4th of July pass in Idaho.another stretch of about 40 mph so a lot of the travel was well over 65 mph to make it average 59.

we are home here in Stanwood now and are gonna take a nap till dinner time. see ya'll later
 
I must have just missed you two on the highway this morning. I had a showing up north today. I was looking for you on the road but accorcing to spot I just missed you. I may stop by this weekend to see the new boat if you dont mind.

OK Gang... you know I hated to miss a gathering of anykind, and we were kinda tired... after the no stoping trip pulling a boat for 3.5 days... So, I called Les at a stop point, and let him know we had to just go crash. Aint as young as I use to be.

Now, it is Saturday morning...and I have had a great 10 hour nap.....and...I FEEL YOUNG AGAIN!!!

So, David/Pat... drag a case of the Train big ol bottles over to EQ today and we can try again later in the day. No, I do not expect you to give me a case...but I did miss the gatherings up here this year and I am missing "the good stuff," Gitto get it when I can.

Les opens at 10am and I plan to get there about then to 15 after time frame to allow them to get the doors and gate open.

Tracker will be on for that trip over...but, by the looks of things...I may just need to turn that sucker off for a bit and see my friends too.

I do like this SPOT tool. It was great to know that as we traveled, our families could see our progress...and once we stopped, we could just crash and rest without having to worry with phone calls or if we had cell coverage. Just hit the OK message and they got an email...and/or text message.

Pat, after a drive like you just did, that 10 hours must have felt good. now, add on behind that a good 8 hours sleep tonight and yo ....(Oh, you'll probably have to get up and leave the round table at midnight, but you'll feel great in the morning.)

Great day yesterday. Nice big breakfast, nice Church service, nice big ol pot of oyster stew by Roger's son Jeremiah waiting for us when we got home, then the afternoon on the boat with Les, Roger and myself with the masking tape and measurements. Should go vertical today with a bit of cardboard cut outs.

Yes, another great night rest after a fun dinner at Olive Garden and visit with Ruth and Joe up on their hill. Neat to finally get to see some of thier works and collections after hearing about them for years. For sure a beautiful home with a view to die for. We enjoyed one of Ruth's BA Pumkin' pies for desert at their home after the Garden.

Thanks Grumpy and crew for your gift when we saw each other Saturday. Much appreciated and will for sure add to the quality of life on our boating days.!!

This is an awesome trip and what great friends and extended family we form around our love for boats. Life is Good!!

Back in TN now. Great trip. I played with SPOT a bit on the jet ride home too...and it tracked just fine. It was fun also to watch our travel on the Garmin too.... and WOW what a difference about 550 mph makes crossing the state lines rather than the rate of travel on land. Check out the tracking link... Cool.

Great trip... wish I could have stayed longer and saw more C-Brats.

Great start to a neat project.

See yall in Jan09 up in the NW corner around our Seattle Boat Show gig and good times. Looking forward to it.

Good to see ya made it safely. Just hope no-one from the FAA notices you used the SPOT on the airplane !!! Guess it just must have been in your bag and accidentally switched on. :oops:
