C-Dory Sightings

Another Tom Cat, "Pipe Dreams", has taken up residence on the same dock as us at Skyline. Have not met the owner yet but when I do I will encourage him/her to join us.

We had a nice dinner Sunday at the new Thai restaurant in town with friends from UT and with John and Kathy, who reported a nice weekend spent at Roche Harbor and Victoria.

Saw an unnamed, black trimmed Tomcat heading south from E. Wenatchee on our way over to Soap Lake last Friday. Even the radar unit looked black.

Spent the weekend at Mystery Bay State Park, and met several new (to me) C-Dory folk.
1. A blue stripe, 25 that did a no dock launch at the park, but lives in the area.
2. A black stripe 22 cruiser, 07 I believe owned by Gordon and Karen, who are just getting it put together from a recent purchase. Invited us to join them on a trip down to Mats Mats Bay, which was a very interesting place on a minus 3.6 tide
3. A blue stripe, 22 Angler, from Mats Mats Bay, Elaine and Kevin who had been fishing out of Port Townsend.

All nice folks, and everyone of them was invited to the C-Brat site and the Seattle Boat Show affair.

Must have been the United Nations Tom Cat!

Warren (sorry, couldn't resist! )

5am here in HI on the Island of Maui. Saw a TomCat named WINDY SEAS..... or I think that was the name of her. Had to get a quick shot as we were out on a/for a snorkle charter....and had to keep moving. Did take a moving snap shot as I passed the ramp..... saw the owner washing down the trailer.....again...fast snap shot...... and those pics are in the camera....in the nightstand by my sleeping wife. She still does not like getting up at 5am here either....but we shared a great sunrise one of the first mornings over due to the time change and differences.

Will look down the owners listed...load up the pics and see if we can meet the owner. We were at the launch ramp area by Buzz food joint.... and the name of that ramp area is also in the nightstand.....on the brochure..... and NO... I am not taking a chance on waking her up... I like having both my arms....and that stuff will be ther later...

Now...out to the beach to enjoy another sun rise.

Aloha Patrick,

Good on ya. Good choices. Next to being on SleepyC, I like Sunrise as the best time of the day.

Not technically a C-Dory but I saw a beautiful Ranger 25 "Nellie" being towed south on I-5 between Seattle and Boeing Field/King County Airport this morning about 0730ish.

Judy and I just saw a 16 in the Portland Rose Festival Starlight Parade. It was one of tonights floats. I didn't get the name but did see it was from Hood River , Oregon. First time I ever saw a C-Dory cruise the streets of down town Portland. Pretty Cool.

Tim! Good to hear from you, bud! Nice to know you are still tuned in!

Thanks Pat,
Tyboo just got me reconnected a week or so ago. As the old saying goes, "You can take the boy out of his C-Dory, but you can't take the C-Dory out of the boy".

just about an hour ago I spotted a c-dory heading East on I-180 thru Williamsport PA. Had median barrier between us in a construction zone so very tough to see, but I think it was a 25' with the word Trout in the name. Thought maybe heading to the Cheasepeake bay gathering this weekend? If so we will see you there!!!

On my way to the post office, saw Miss Lee at the Gig Harbor city dock. No one aboard, though. But then, I wouldn't have been either. What a gorgeous day!

While out at Blakely Rock fishin' up a Rockfish dinner, Two Lucky Fish swung by to say hello on their way South to different fishing grounds. Chasing salmon in Area 11?

Friday June 5, making our way north on I-5 to Bellingham, we passed Dr. Bob towing Frequent Sea at Mount Vernon. Gave him a quick call on the cell to say we had just passed him. He was planning to stay in Bellingham Friday night, go to West Marine and Wally World, and cross the border on Saturday.

Saw the Admiralty-C at the Fort Flagler dock on Marrowstone Island with the full crew, Chris, Patty and the boys with Pizza and an eye for the playground, on a pleasant, windy Saturday afternoon. Nice to get to meet you all, hope your trip home was great too.

Being "stuck" here in the Midwest, and it not being exactly the hotbed of C-Dory activity, I have been patiently waiting for an opportunity to post to this thread. Today was the day!

I spotted "Na Waqa" heading north on I-55 just south of Springfield, Illinois at about 5:30 p.m. CDT. I was headed south towards home, and almost drove off the road when I saw another beautiful example of our great boats...since we were traveling in opposite directions on the interstate at highway speeds (and BIG storms were brewing), it wasn't a long look, but it was great to see another one!

Na Waqa's owner goes by "smittypaddler" here on C-Brats...he keeps an interesting travelogue going at http://smittypaddler.com/

Fun!

Hello Mark,

If you passed me heading north, sorry I didn't wave. I'm so used to people slowing up to get a better look at a C-Dory, that I don't react anymore. Pulling a C-Dory means being somewhat of a traffic jam, so many people slow down as they go by.
