C-Dory Sightings

Well, well, well...while on my run this morning, what did I see at a recently sold home not two blocks away from Da Barn? Last Frontier - a nice 22 Cruiser w/twin Suzukis.

It was too early to knock on the door, so I dropped a note to the original owner who has an account here - but the boat was sold a while back, so he's not "the one." Said he sold it to a retired military or Coast Guard gentleman in Utah, who was planning on returning to the PNW at some point. Looks like he made it....

I'll track down this Freshwater Bay Brat.

Spotted Adrian in "Kuroshio" running in the Malaspina Strait as we were going from Pender Harbor to Gorge Harbor. If you want a full size copy without the copyright, let me know.

This afternoon I saw a newer black striped boat with dark blue Alaska Series tender on top....Upright Channel heading south.
Not long after that I saw a Tom Cat with yellow Alaska Series on top heading north on Upright Channel. Both sightings were north part of Upright Head.
We have a cabin on the west side of that area, very high bank.
Sorry, I am not sure who owns those boats, but of course...they looked great on this beautiful day.

Spotted an older 22 with blue bootstripe in Anchorage Wednesday evening in the motel parking lot I'm staying at. Thought the motor looked kinda large so I had to take a closer look. Turns out it's powered with a four stroke Suzuki 175. The owner happened to be in the tow rig, really nice guy. Spends alot of time in Prince William Sound. Anyway he was enroute to Whittier to test it out as it had just replaced a two stroke 115. Hopefully he will share his experience when he gets back. Boat name is Ocean Dor.

Looks like that would be a fun ride.

Karl - a 175 on a 22? Wow - seems very overpowered to me. Maybe he loads it heavy.

I saw a 16' CD with a grey stripe heading N on Ballinger Way in Lake Forrest park this AM.

Crossed wakes with C-Run this morning in South Puget Sound. Had a brief chat out our respective windows just off Johnson Point. Beautiful morning.

If I every give up cruising and go back to fishing, I'm getting a 19. It's still my favorite of all the C-dories (including descendents/cousins/whatever.) Nice boat. Any fish?

Saw four c-dorys today. On the way home from a trip to Olympia we saw a 22 heading south on I5 just north of Everett. Then we saw a blue stripe 22 from oregon parked just down the block from us. Later at Squalicum we saw Sea Play on P-dock. Just as we were leaving Dahlfins pulled into the P-dock. Had a nice chat with Gus and Becky

Bill, Nice running into you off of Johnson Point this morning. No fish, I didn't have any gear as this was a two day cruise. I met up with my brother and his wife and we spent two wonderful days and nights in the far south sound. Your boat is a beauty!

Kinda looks like Pat was carrying a load of Snowqualmie's best, boat looks to have been loaded below the Plimsoll line!!

We just returned from 16 days of touring and fishing the Nootka Sound area on the west cost of Vancouver Island. We saw several C-Dorys and chatted with a couple of the owners ( nice folks, as one would expect ).
16 angler named "Rainbow" ( Fast Eddie and his wife) . 22 cruiser named "True Story" , 22 cruiser named "Work Release", a blue and white 22 cruiser unnamed , 22 angler named "Ragnar" ( Rick ) and on our cruise up the Tahsis Inlet a 22 angler from Butte Mt. named "Chica". All beautiful boats!!

Saw Aurelia today while I was pulling/dropping crab pots near Indianola. Also saw what I think might have been Starcraft Tom's 27 on my way back to Everett.

Spent last night anchored up with the Aurelia in eagle harbor. They sneaked out this morning in the fog.

Yesterday we ran into peter. He was having engine trouble and running on the kicker. Sorry we could not figure out what was wrong peter. Hope you get it tracked down.

Roger where were you when you saw me? I doubt it was us. we were up north not catching fish again. There is another 27 in the sound now, might have been them

We also saw Dave on the Anna Leigh doing his work for the coasties. Looked like some sort of helo drop.

I was around Mulkiteo headed towards Everett. Saw what I thought was a 27. Green stripe. Could be wrong it might have been a 25 with tons of stuff loaded.
