C-Dory Sightings

I went down to Hilton Harbor after work to do a few things on the boat and noticed a new boat was there. It's a 22 c-dory named Sans Souci. I believe it's a 2009 and it has twin 50s. Nice looking boat. I don't know who owns the boat (I think the boat was recently bought). Hopefully the new owners will become active c-brats, if they are not already.

Saw a white C-Dory   OK they are all white, with a dark stripe, ahh huh they are colors right? but it was nearly dark, and I was quit a ways away, going west on Washington through Sequim, just past Key bank and Jiffy Lube. Light colored, (yep, coulda been white too) pickup pulling it. Sorry, didn't see a name on the boat. Might have been one, but not under the windows on the sides. Couldn't see it from, aft but it did have Honda power, looked like it might have been TWINS :thup :thup

Halibut season opens tomorrow. Already boats trailers and fisherman hanging around at the marina.

While walking around the east side of Seward Park yesterday, we saw a gray CD22 cruiser motoring north, later when we got back to Daydream in Andrews Bay, it was anchored across the bay. I decided I better row over and find out who the heck it was! Turns out it was a gent named Tom who lives in North Bend, right here in Snoqualmie Valley, no name on the boat, he bought it in 2007 from Lake Union Sea Ray. Rigged with - you guessed it - a 90 horse Mercury outboard. He never overnights, and he says he might have checked C-Brats once. So naturally I gave him the low-pressure sales pitch on the Brats. I really cannot imagine having a C-Dory and (A) not overnighting, and (2) not getting hooked on C-Brats! Oh, well...maybe we will see Tom here some time, maybe not!

There is now a third c-dory at Hilton Harbor in Bellingham. This one is a 22 angler. Looks like a newer model in good shape. That makes a 22 angler, a 22 cruiser, and of course our 24 tomcat. Now we need a 25, a 16, and maybe a 14.

Wish we at Friday Habor for the CBGT but work and family responsibities got in the way. At least we were able to spot this new c-dory addition.

Pat, I think there are quite a few C-Dory owners that don't "over night" or "check in on C-Brats" I know of at least 5 here on the peninsula that rarely if ever do. I saw one today, coming out at John Wayne after a day of halibut fishing. I agree, with you on the overnighting and the C-Brats.

Was pulling Soapy Joe up to the slip on Cayuga Lake on Saturday afternoon and spotted 2 25's in Seneca Falls tied up to the wall. Couldn't spot any names on the boats going by at 25 :)

Jan and I met with the 2012 NC-VA Loop Flotilla [ SEA QUEST, MUNCHKIN, SIMMER, ORCA and OSPREY] at the NC Visitor's Center/Rest Stop on Friday, 18 May.

Though the wind was heavy from the NE, all skippers made docking like real 'pros', as they really are.

We shared some great fellowship and a wonderful picnic dinner. OOPS, I did not get a pix of ALL the food. Well, now there isn't any proof of how much we really ate.

A NE storm hitting the Lower Ches. Bay helped with my decision of not making the trip(agn), as well as scheduling conflicts & obligation at the last minute. It is abt a 35NM run from my marina to the protected waters of the Elizabeth River in Norfolk.

Maybe next year will work; else, a smaller group run later in the fall. The James River is still on the horizon.

I assume there will be some interesting stories of the Loop trip forth coming.

That would have been 'Annalee' and 'Lake Effect'. 'Lake Effect' is planning on cruising the canal to Tonawanda then turning back East and heading to Waterford.

Saw a blue 22 being pulled by a gray Dodge (I think) truck headed toward Tacoma on Hwy 16 around 6:15 am today, right before the Narrows Bridge. Snapped two pictures.

While watching the USS Iowa backing out of Richmond this morning, I spied a C-Dory following her. I'll take a look tomorrow and see if I got a picture of the
C-Dory with the Iowa in the background...

I'm wondering if it was Ramblin' Rose? We met them in 2008 up at Genoa Bay when we had the 19CD. I think they were out of Oregon and loved to fish!

BTW, Jan and Dan, nice seeing you back on the C-Brat site again, it's been awhile....

I saw a green C-Dory heading into Friday Harbor as I was heading out on the whale watch boat. Turns out it was Peter and Caryn, and we just had a nice visit with them on our boat this evening! They're enjoying time off for the holiday weekend. Earlier, we saw Caryn while walking back from getting ice cream... that was my treat after a day on the boat. That ice cream shop is mighty close to where we're working this summer. 8) Odds are pretty good we'll run into other C-Brats this summer on the way to or from the ice cream shop.

I saw a blue trimmed CD-22 Cruiser heading north on I-5 yesterday (Thursday, May 31) around 10:30 am down around Williams, California.

Got by me going the other way before I could look for a name.

I may be off a little on the exact location and time.

Thanks for the mention Jim. It was great seeing you and Joan the other day. I'm sure we'll be up to FH again this summer. Have a great season and don't work too hard! :thup
