C-Dory Sightings

Pat- Thanks for the info. Actually Joe is aware of the regs and we did go into area 13. Also, we only took red rock crabs, for which the limit is still six per person. We didn't even see a Dungeness crab all day. Dotty and Joe are devouring the red rock crabs as we speak, washing them down with some excellent Snoqualmie brew. As you know, we New Jersey guys are not put off by the fiestyness or the hard shell of the red rocks. . Looking forward to seeing that beautiful 25 and it's great crew, when the Dungeness season opens in the north sound on July 1.

I saw Flat Iron going east on Hwy 50 in Sacramento early on July 4. Could this have been a day trip to Folsom Lake :wink or a longer trip to Lake Tahoe? :teeth

OK, saw Sea3PO (I always grin thinking about Rev Dave christening this boat!) being towed eastbound on I-90 in the vicinity of Snoqualmie, exiting to SR 18 southbound, which is in the general direction of C-Dory and/or I-5 south. I honked, but obviously Joel had no idea who was honking...

What a coincidence, Pat.

Hey, who was piloting a green 22' Cruiser under the western high rise of the Hood Canal Bridge at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, July 24th?
Another coincidence.

Caryn and I have been out quite a bit the past few weeks.

On Thursday, July 28th, we saw what looked like a blue CD-22 on the southern tip of Whidbey Island. Spotted Lane in Sunfish coming out of Port Townsend on Saturday, July 30th. He gave us a couple of blasts on his horn as he was passing.

This past weekend, we ran into Roger and Pat of Fishtales and Joel of Sea3PO at the Lopez Islander marina. It was great talking to them and seeing their ideas in person. Real nice people. They were on their way to Blakely the next day. It's always nice meeting fellow C-Brats after seeing their pics and posts online.

Then we ran into Fred (Anita Marie) at Twin Bridges and spotted Pat trailering Daydream down I-5 on Sunday.

It's great fun to own a boat that builds such an amazing camaraderie amongst its owners.

Well, if this doesn't beat all! Now I know many of you like to color coordinate with matching fenders, line and even coil hoses, but I never would have thought to coordinate the font color of these messages. Of course it doesn't come across well when you have a black boat.

:wink

Yes, I was towing home to Fall City from Birch Bay this past Sunday in the late afternoon - I did recognize you after a second! Unfortunately, we had not been out boating, but Patty had picked the boat up from EQ the prior Wednesday, where it had been for the previous two and a half weeks for its camperback and electronics install, now all completed. While Patty was staying at Birch Bay for the week, she did a few customizations that she can tell folks about, and I got the Airhead composting marine toilet completely installed (fan wired, vent hose connected) and the AudioSource speakers mounted and wired on Sunday morning, so we are really closing in on it. Now we just need some time to get out on the water!!

Corwin,

Very funny!!! LOL!!!

Pat,

I'm glad you recognized us. I saw you from a long way back and was glad to see it was a CD we knew! Congrats on your new additions. Look forward to seeing you on the water soon.

Peter

C-Dancer: What the heck is he talking about, Pat??

Daydream: Gosh, I'm not sure, Peter...do you know, Joe and Ruth?

R-Matey: Beats the heck out of us...

Heck, all these red and green colors kind of get me in that Christmas sort of mood.

:xlol Hmmm, wonder if Little Catelyn will be on Santa's knotty or knice list?

We drove from Bellingham, WA to Auburn, CA and had four C-Dory sightings:

(1) August 2nd on Highway 101 just south of Port Orford, a motorhome (northbound) was towing a green CD.

(2) August 2nd at the marina in Brookings, OR, we found "Fire Drill" and wondered if it was another "FireGuy". Posted a couple of photos in the R-Matey "C-Dorys Here & There" album.

(3) August 3rd at the marina in Fort Bragg, CA we found "Sweet Mystery" and posted a photo of that one, too.

(4) Now this one was totally unexpected.....It's Friday afternoon about 1PM and we're in Auburn, CA. Joe yells "There's a C-Dory" and I am thinking that the heat has gotten to him (it's about 105 degrees) but sure enough as we went around the next corner there's a green 16 (no name) going up the hill. I finally caught up to the driver and Joe waved our R-Matey sign at him. The driver gave us the :thup but we're not sure if he knew what we were trying to tell him. At that point I had to turn around and go back into Auburn.

No more sightings on our return trip to Washington.

Pat,

I want to know more about this new marine toilet you've got installed that has speakers hooked up to it. Is it stereo or just mono? Sounds like a project for next winter.

Tim

Yes, hooking the speakers to the Airhead was a bit tricky...

Bartender, I thought maybe I'd had a few too many when I saw your boat. What a perfect coincidence that was. Did you have a good cruise home?
:cocktail

OK, today we were tied up at Ivar's Salmon House dock on Lake Union (yes, again, we like it, OK?) enjoying lunch at a waterside table, and an unnamed blue CD25 was proceeding eastbound toward Portage Bay and the Montlake Cut. Don't know if they spotted us tied up at the dock...

SEA3PO was right behind Fishinn (the motorhome)-- we had just left the Snoqualmie River RV and was heading over to the factory to pickup Fishtales. We heard you honking, but didn't know who it was.
