C-Dory Sightings

There were 6 C-Dorys within sight of each other at Friday Harbor on Saturday evening. Sweet Dreams (a 22 owned by locals), Tom and Susan's 27, Don's 25 Knotty-C, Kristen Rose (a 22), another 22 (didn't see a name), and Wild Blue (our 25).

I saw this 16 parked at the dinghy dock in Roche Harbor earlier this week...

Didn't get a chance to visit with the owner - we were heading out.

We saw your boat there this weekend. Hard to connect the boats names with the forums id's. Do you keep your boat in a slip there? I think I saw you there the last time as well.

We are in a seasonal slip in Friday Harbor. Unless it is our days off (we are working here again this summer), we are here. I didn't see a TC24 this weekend, but I don't get out on the transient docks very often.

Last week, taking the back road from Chemainus to the ferry terminal at Crofton (both on east side of Van Isle,) we saw our old boat NoddyBleu parked in a garage lot. Returning from Saltspring Isl. later in the day, I was going to stop in and see what gives. She was gone, so I suppose she was there for a little engine work. She went to live in Nanaimo a few years ago, but her new owners moved, I think.
It was exciting to see such a good ole' boat again. She looked well kempt.

We were on H dock in a green TC255 alongside my brother in law on his green 22 cruiser.

Now that I own a C-Dory, I do keep an eye out for them when I'm out and about. I usually see one on every trip, often several. I have reached the point I don't report the sightings any more. Got more important stuff to discuss like "twins v single"

Martin.

Saw an older black striped 22 outward bound in the big lock yesterday about noon. She was cramed in there behind two tugs and a gazillion pleasure boats.

On my way back from Barkley Sound spotted a C Dory heading north from Victoria on the Malahat around 3:15. Tough to get a name going 90K in opposite directions.

Likely Checkpoint ii or Red Snapper heading for PH

Yesterday (Sunday, 27 July,) I pulled into Poets' Cove to refuel on a jaunt to S. Pender Island. Afterward, I putted through the anchorage/moorings at the park. Chimo was on mooring #13, what a surprise. Unfortunately, no one was home. Sorry to miss meeting you, Chimo, but I hope you enjoy your stay.
Cheers, Rod.

Passed Dr Bob on I10 westbound, on our way to New Orleans. He was in the RV towing Thisaway. We slowed down and waved, but Bob was busy concentrating on the traffic ahead,

Safe traves Bob and Marie.

That would have been us on the way to Nootka Sound for a fishing trip at Critter Cove. The boat was Rick's boat, C-Dawg.

BTW, we had a great trip, caught lots of nice Springs!! I'll try to post a thread in the next couple of weeks.

Saw a C-Dory heading out of Deception Pass on 7/28. Too fast to catch the name.
Saw a Cape Cruiser on 7/30, with a dark hull, from California, at the public dock in Ganges. No name on the boat. No one aboard.
El Gato Thomas was at Port Sidney Marina on 7/31. Had a nice chat with Kevin and Kara.
Spotted Runaway fishing north of San Juan Island on 8/2. He said they weren't biting.
Saw DVant at Deer Harbor on 8/2.
On 8/3 we saw a C-Dory with no name fishing near Lopez Island and another fishing near Fidalgo Island. Saw another C-Dory was in the middle of Deception Pass but didn't catch the name. Full 90 was pulling away on its trailer as we docked in Cornet Bay, and we were pulling away when Kim Christine was docking.

Saw three on I-5 between turn off for Deception Pass and Seattle Sunday Aug 3. Tomcat "Patriot" headed North in the AM, 2 22's headed South in the PM first unnamed, 2nd "full 90" about a mile back. Wonder if they ever saw each other.

Saw a C-Dory in a parking lot in Homer, Alaska the other day. I pulled up to talk with the owner and he called me by name.
Turns out it was a CD I pulled up from Washington several years ago. It was all wrapped in shrink wrap then and looked like a big white banana behind my truck.

Also yesterday....I saw a 16' C-Dory heading south along the Turnagain Arm. It had so much "stuff" on it I do not know how it floated.

I am seeing more CD's this season than ever before.

well this past weekend we saw a couple of 22 ,s up in the Comox area ... oh yeah they were rafted up one on each side of our TC ..... thanks Nomad we had a great time , and thanks out to C-Fury , again we had a fun time with ya . Now on the way home from up north we stopped over in Friday Harbor for the night , saw two C-Dorys both from California , one a 23 cape cruiser no name , the other one was a TomCat name Patriot . stopped and talked with them for a bit nice folks ..

I was at Sportcraft today to pick up a few filters, and saw C Puffin, a beautiful CD-19 with twins. The gent said he had just purchased it (used), and it only had 40ish hours on the engines. Apparently, the original owner became very ill right after buying the boat
