C-Ranger R25 tug - In the water

any new scoop on the CR25 from the factory??
chance of a gathering for a factory showing of her?

Byrdman.....waiting retro work on C-Byrd

Well, Pat, I think we are all waiting with 'baited breath'.... for some real progress reports and pics. I am kind of surprised the company has not released any photos at all, especially since the boat is out on parade up there. So, we wait.... and watch other, cruel ppl, who flaunt pics of gigantamongous gulf fish.... John

Yes, and I think that the Livingstons don't quite yet understand what C-Dory understood long ago - WE are their best sales force. If they really got it, they would spend at least as much time keeping us informed (and hyped) as they do with the traditional means to the buying public, like the Opening Day Parade and the Poulsbo Trawlerfest. I'm sorry to disagree with Dusty, but again, I think they would have reaped a LOT more benefit by bringing the boat to Lopez than taking it to the Opening Day Parade...As an analogy, I would rather pitch my microbrew to 60 or 80 beer lover than hawk it to a crowd of 10,000 who are happy with Bud. (Here, for the analogy-challenged, microbrew = C-Dory and C-Ranger, and Bud = say, Bayliner). Jeff Messmer will tell you most C-Dory buyers found this site first, and it was a major factor in their decision to buy. I'll bet the boatshow buyers either owned a C-Dory or were going back and forth between a CD25 and the C-Ranger 25. The Livingstons are clearly are not taking advantage of the connection yet.

I'm going to the factory tomorrow for a look see. I talked to Jeff a few days ago and he said the boat that was in the parade would be there but that the inside was not finished, even less finished than the one at the boat show in January. They are supposed to have one finished for show at the Trawlerfest in Poulsbo in June. When I talked to Jeff 3 or 4 weeks ago he said production was set back about three weeks. I'll try to get as much information as possible and give a report on Tuesday after the long weekend. Going to see if the Sturgeon are in the Columbia near the mouth, they were not there last weekend.

I second that point! It does bother me that even those of us who have purchased a C-Ranger 25 have not an iota of info on what is going on. John

BUD=Bayliner, what's that all about. Most of the Bayliners I have seen had a bottle of T-Bird and a can of Copenhagen on the bridge.

My guess is that the C-Ranger folks learned a lesson from the early exposure at the earlier parade and are unwilling to re-show the C-Ranger Tug until it's properly cleaned up and finished out.

This crowd is a tough audience, and showing a semi-polished product to them which they have such high expectations for, is like knowingly making a dumb statement on one of these forums:

Stand back and wait for incoming!!!

Joe.

Please do not take this as me throwing any stones... The ONLY reason I was looking is to afford me the best possible opportunity to save money on airline tickets thru southwest. The earlier I can buy them for "forcasted dates" (the real light blue blocks on their site) the more echonomical they are. And, when ever it is...and if ever there is a gathering of sort around it, I'd kinda like to make it.

And we'd love to have you! Onliest problem is, nobody has a clue when that will be yet...

Last word I had from Jeff Messmer, this was last week, was that he thought it would be ready for buyer sea trials (C trials?) right after the Poulsbo Trawlerfest, so perhaps the Bellingham CBGT would be the logical time for the factory to do an unveiling for the Brats...but I am sure they are being tight-lipped about this so as not to create expectations they might not be able to meet.

Bellingham in July?

Poulsbo Trawlerfest looks to be 2nd weekend in Jun06. Bellingham gathering 3rd weekend in Jul06. If CR25 is not ready for Trawlerfeast, then the factory would/should have 4 more business weeks until Bellingham. You may be on to something here Pat. What does Oscar think?

I am not sure what Oscar thinks...but his head is at least back to normal size now!

I'm betting the next time we see the CR-25, many of the little cosmetic details and other suggested changes that have been made will be incorporated into the boat. All well worth waiting for! Joe.

Robbin and I went to Trawlerfest in Poulsbo today. Jeff was their with the new 25 C-Ranger.

That is sure a Beautiful Looking Vessel!.........I like it!

(Looking at the controls in the photo of the helm, it appears that this particular one is equipped with both the bow and stern thrusters).

Thanks, Fred and Robbin for posting those pix.

Wow! The interior is really nicely trimmed out and much better looking than what I expected based on the early version at the SBS. I want one.... but alas that will have to wait awhile (at least until the kid gets out of college).

Oh my goodness, that boat is GORGEOUS! Even better than the interior and drawings at the SBS. That is the first boat I've seen that turned my head as much as the CD-25. I can't wait to see a finished version in person. :smilep

For anyone who has had the opportunity to ride on it, how does the ride of the C-Ranger Tug compare to the C-Dory? Whew, if I start talking about "our next boat" before we even pick up the new one, I will be in big trouble.

Thank you for posting those photos! (I think )

On an almost unrelated topic, we are getting to view those images via the wireless broadband card after a night away; I am impressed with the performance of the card with our Mac laptop... getting 130k out in the boonies. I'm thinking this is going to be a real asset on the boat.

Best wishes,
Jim B.
