CD-29 Venture Line Drawing

Saw this boat being pulled by a C-dory factory truck through Bellingham. Must have been heading down to the harbor for the Bellingham gathering. I just got a quick view of the exterior. It was the inboard version, and had a small bow thruster installed. It's definitely big relative to the other C-dories. I couldn't tell if the interior was finished out yet or not. Hopefully the folks at the gathering can give us a more complete update as they start to return home.

I was on board as were many others at the Bellingham GTG. That it is bigger than the usual C-Dory is an understatement. This puppy is huge in comparison. About 10 ft beam and when Bill stood next to it the top of his head was only about half way up the hull. 220 HP Yanmar in it. Heat pump for A/C and heat, taking the heat out of the water instead of the air. Large gen-set. The interior was not finished, but they wanted to get it to Bellingham. I think the first one should be named C-Monster. Very nice boat, definitely not trailerable.(without a special permit).

Here's a photo of the truck that the factory recomends towing the boat with.

Sure looks a lot like a 30 ft long cabin Osprey, at least superficially!

Joe.

looking at the osprey site I would say that they look a lot alike including the forward head. What are the projected speed numbers for the 29 c-monster??? the osprey with twin's is listed at 40 plus. I have driven one of the 26 fisherman models and they are smooth under way. very nice boat.[/img]
