The 14 x 40 Fujinon give you 5 degrees of stabilization vs the 3 degrees of the 12 x 32. I believe that this would be a significant difference--and perhaps one of the reasons that the more expensive, and larger binoculars use 4 AA batteries, rather than 2 AA batteries as in the smaller units.
This is not the only time that the "deals" have sold out after the active captain ads.
I love my 14 x 40--used them many times on Lake Powell. One of the times was when a chopper was affecting a rescue near Oak Canyon….probably saw some things I should not have seen!
