Draining the 22- Cruiser water tank

Someone else must have figured out a way to drain the freshwater tank more quickly than pumping it through the little spout on the sink. Every time I have to clean the tank (bleach), sweeten the tank (baking soda), and flush the tank (fresh water), it takes a year and a day to drain the thing so that I can finally use it. Anyone have a better idea?

This was addressed within the last week or so. In my CD 22, there was a "T" in the line going across the aft floor from the water tank to the under the galley cabinet. The "T" had a cap on it, and I would either open this cap and drain into the floor, and to the cockpit thru a "thru hull" which was in the aft bulkhead, or hook up a diaphragm pump to this "T" and pump the water directly overboard.
 
There's more than one thread covering this little nuisance. Easiest is to go down to Home Despot, pick up some clear plastic tubing that fits tightly over the spout, hang the other end out the window and down below the hull, then let Mr. Siphon handle the job. 'Couple of pumps to get it started and you can go have a beverage of choice while it drains.

You can drain the tank with a 6' + piece of hose that will slip over the faucet and put the other end out through the window so it is below the water line. Pump the foot pump and once you have discharge, it will syphon the rest.
 
Thanks everyone for the advice. Siphoning is what I have been doing and it seems that's what others are doing also. I was hoping someone came up with something faster. Even draining it into the cockpit would probably not be any faster than the siphon method, so it looks like we'll keep doing it that way!

Think of the siphoning as an excuse to test whether or not Snoqualmie's best brew indeed will last for the full time it takes to drain the tank. I have found that my siphon is a two brew siphon. Of course if you are a masochist, you could always clean the garage, mow the lawn, clean the gutters, etc. But I prefer the Snoqualmie solution. Your mileage may vary :)
