Hey everyone,
I know it's been a long (long) time since I've had a chance to post and chat with all y'all.
So here's the rundown...
Things got very, very slow at E.Q. in December and January (before that it was just slow) so we had to lay off one employee and take the rest of teh crew down to 4 days-a-week.
Since there were still no sales, and that's what I mostly do these days, I took another day out of my schedule putting me down to three.
No sense in wasting all that time so I decided I needed a bit of a challenge in my life and it afforded me an opportunity to pursue a field I had tried to enter 30-odd years ago and just couldn't pull it together enough at that time to continue.
The short version is, I'm attending a 9-month, 650-hour training course in Port Townsend on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays to become a Licensed Massage Practitioner. I started in mid-March and I'll graduate on December 2nd.
Quite a change from the boat business but I've always wanted to do something that helped folks in a very direct way. This is about as "hands on" as I can get!
So, I'm going to school 3 days a week and working at E.Q. 3 days a week (Thur, Fri, and Sat). It's a very busy schedule for me now but I'm really enjoying the training and all indications are that I'll love my new chosen profession when I'm licensed and working with clients.
I do intend to stay at E.Q. for quite some time to come but we'll have to see what the economy has in store for us before I know how much I'll be there and how much I'll be at my massage practice.
Anyway, just thought I'd let y'all know what I've been up to.
All the best,
